Voices could be heard meowing in the distance.

"What are we going to do?"

"Are the clans in trouble?"

"We need to warn them.."

A tall, starry furred cat slowly bounded up to a group of starry furred cats. "We will warn them when the time comes. Until then, there is nothing to worry about until that kit is born."

"What kit?" one cat asked.

"You never told us about this kit!" another exclaimed.

"Are you trying to get the clans destroyed, Foxstar?" a smaller she-cat asked.

Foxstar looked down at her. "Are you mouse-brained?" he mewed in an annoyed tone.

The she-cat looked away with a small blush. "No..." she huffed.

Foxstar sighed and looked back at the group. "I don't know if we should warn them yet... The threat doesn't seem that dangerous."

"I think you have bees in your brain if you decide not to warn any cat." A cat padded up from the group to Foxstar.

"Thorntail, I think we'll be fine."

"You think, but you don't know. You act like you are the leader of Starclan or something. We're all dead here! Not just you!" Thorntail hissed.

"That's enough from you, Thorntail. We will not warn them at all because they will be fine." Foxstar puffed his chest out a little after his statement.

Thorntail angrily mumbled something to himself and padded off towards the starry trees.

A tom with black fur and grey socks was padding down a pathway. His scarlet red eyes shown in the night. He was with a she-cat. Her fur is grey, almost black, with a white ear. It is thick and long. She has a round face with circle-shaped, ice-blue eyes. She has a scar on her chest.

"Why did you bring me out here, Dustshine?" The tom asked with a look of curiosity on his face.

"Well-" The she-cat started but got cut off.

"If it's about the thorns in your nest, then I'm sorry, okay? Who told you?" He blurted out.

"Wait, sorry for what?" She meowed with confusion.

"So it's not that... Well, um. What's up then?" Blacksting laughed nervously.

Dustshine sighed. "I'm having your kits, Blacksting."

Blacksting's eyes widened. He almost gasped at what his mate had just told him. He looked down at her belly to notice it wasn't normally flat. It was round.

Blacksting stood in front of his mate, staring at her belly silently. It was like he just lost contact with reality now that he knows he will be a father.

"Blacksting? Are you alright..?" Dustshine licked his cheek and nuzzled him.

The tom stood there for a second with an ominous expression on his face. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. Just glad that I'll be a father!" He wasn't alright, and he knew that.

He never wanted to have a litter in the first place.
