Chapter 32

Two more moons had passed by since Shredflash and Eclipse became mates. Eclipse had laid herself out on the nest as she showed her now round belly. Shredflash padded into the small cave with a bird in his maw. "You alright in here, Eclipse?" he said with a muffled meow, padding up to her and placing the bird gently in front of her.

"I am." she meowed back and smiled, then she took a bite out of the bird.

"And the kits?" Shredflash sat next to Eclipse and gently put one paw on her belly, rubbing it a little.

"They are fine too, there's nothing to worry about." She smiled at him and then continued to eat the bird he got for him. Eclipse had taught Shredflash how to hunt properly once he told her he didn't know how to.

"Shredflash, please rest. You've been hunting all day for me! And I've told you I'm fine," Eclipse meowed.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes! Now please rest for me."

Shredflash gave a brief sigh as he laid himself down next to her. He didn't enjoy sleeping at all, but for her, he will do it for. He felt Eclipse turn around to lay her head onto him, her belly pointing the other way now. Shredflash slowly closed his eyes. He now felt like he needed to rest for a while.

"Hey! Wake up!" Shredflash heard a familiar voice and a few prods on his head. He opened his eyes quickly and got up to see a strange cat in front of him.

"You're finally awake, friend!" His voice oddly sounded like Shred.

"Shred, is that you?" Shredflash questioned, as he couldn't make out what Shred looked like.

"The one and only!" Shred replied.

"Why did you bring me here?" The tom looked around. It was pitch black all around him. Shredflash could barely see himself!

"Oh, I almost forgot..." His voice seemed to trail off slightly.

"Forgot what?"

"Your future kin is in danger. There's a cat you have to get rid of to prevent the deaths of Eclipse and your kits, Shredflash," He said.

"Who?" Shredflash was angry now. He would not let any cat do anything to Eclipse.

A light appeared in front of both of them. The light showed a grey tom with yellow eyes. "He is from Driftclan, you must wake up and go soon."

"How will I find Driftclan?" Shredflash asked.

"You are close to the ocean already. Just follow down the Ocean's Side and you will find your way to Driftclan," Shred had replied and suddenly disappeared, along with the light.

Shredflash woke up with a jolt.

Eclipse noticed and lifted her head. "Something wrong, Shredflash?"

"I have to go somewhere and do something. It's to protect you and the kits." He stood up and headed to the entrance of the cave. "Will you be okay on your own for a while?"

"Of course, but these kits in my belly will be a nuisance, though. And please be careful, I don't know what I'd do if I lost you..." She meowed.

"I promise I'll be careful. I will come straight back to you after I am finished." Shredflash went back over to his mate to lick her cheek before heading back over to the entrance.

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Shredflash padded out of the small cave. "Shred?"

Go left and just stay straight. You will see the ocean soon enough.

He nodded and started running in the direction Shred told him to. Shredflash would kill that Driftclan cat, no matter what.
