Aidan walked nonchalantly in the hallway as the commotion grew louder. When the sounds became frantic, Aidan sprinted up the stairs and busted through the door. People ran around grabbing weapons.
"What's up?" questioned Aidan.
"We've got intruders at the gates," answered Alexandria.
"I'll help. Emilie. Jessica. You two go into the basement with Amber," ordered Aidan.
They rushed toward the front door with their weapons in hand. Joseph abruptly stopped everyone.
"Missy. Jake. You stay inside the house. Alex, Derrick, and Davis stay on the porch with rifles. The rest will go to the gates except Ray and Shirley," ordered Joseph.
When all components are in play, the rest of the group approached the gates. Joseph smiled at the faces.
"Need a place to stay?" asked Joseph.
"Yes. Amber told us to come," stated the blockade soldier.
"You brought people," commented Joseph.
"Welcome all," said Aidan as they put the code in the gates control.
"Thank you," responded the soldier.
"Can any of you be helpful?" questioned Joseph.
"I know how to can, make butter, cheese, and pickling," replied a woman.
"Good. The soldiers will be for protection," conveyed Joseph.
"Let's go eat," related Aidan.
"It's the soldiers at the department store and blockade," reported Davis.
"Don't relax just yet," commanded Alexandria.
"Alright," said Davis and Derrick.
"All clear," conveyed Joseph.
The group walked inside the house. Immediately, Aidan pulled the soldier to the side and directed him toward the basement.
"You're the soldier that helped Amber when she got bit?" asked Aidan.
"Yes. I was," answered the soldier.
"Good. I can confide in you," stated Aidan.
"What about?" probed the soldier.
"Amber. What is your name?" requested Aidan.
"My name is Don Jacobs. Tell me about Amber," replied Don.
"She had a reaction to the bites. She is resting from the virus systems," reported Aidan.
"Bites. She only had one bite. What happened?" expressed Don.
"When they came and got me," responded Aidan.
"How?" probed Don.
"She was attacked by a zombie outside the bar. We believe the bar zombie was an elite," answered Aidan.
"What do you mean?" inquired Don.
"He forced Amber. He was stronger and smarter than the rest," remarked Aidan.
"She's getting better?" asked Don.
"Yes. The virus is a part of Amber. She will have side effects," related Aidan.
"Side effects. What kind of side effects?" investigated Don.
"She wants men, but she's trying to fight it," answered Aidan.
"Wants men. Sexually? Wow," questioned Don.
"Yes. Dr. Parker took advantage of this fact," replied Aidan.
