In an instant, the figure went from the room they had resided in. Shirley crept into Sheila's room, watching the pair disappear.

"It's okay, Sheila," said Shirley.

When the pair got upstairs, Amber sunk into the comfortable couch.

Shirley made sure no one noticed her. She slipped through the gateway of her freedom of lies. Shirley slowly mingled into the people.

"I'll get the food," reported Don.

"Alright. Thank you," replied Amber.

It wasn't long before Don came back with plates of food. Emilie was in tow with drinks.

"You all have been helpful," verbalized Amber.

"It's been our pleasure. Besides, you were in need. You invited us," expressed Don.

After they finished their lunch, Don put a DVD in the player. The couple watched the movie. Soon Amber fell asleep while her head was on his lap. Don covered her with a throw and stroked her hair.

Don shook Amber gently so she would wake from her slumber.

"I'm sorry. I fell asleep. Didn't think I was that tired," remarked Amber.

"You need all the rest that you can get," conveyed Don.

"You're right," said Amber.

"Dinner is ready," related Jessica.

"You'll need another TV tray," ordered Jessica as she held one.

Don did as he was told than asked, "Now what?"

"We go get the plates of food and drinks," replied Jessica.

Soon Don and Jessica came back with several plates of food. Which included ham, corn-on-the-cob, mashed potatoes & gravy, noodles, rolls, Hawaiian salad, brownies, buckeyes, and banana wafer pudding. Emilie had a sweet smile while she followed behind the pair with drinks.

"We'll have a meeting after we've finished eating," expressed Amber.

After they finished eating, the people trickled into the living room one at a time until they all were in the space.

"Since the armed forces have pulled back, we're on our own. We'll get my brother and good people while we're on the road," explained Amber.

"Road trip," remarked Davis in an animated tone.

"What will we need for the trip?" questioned Joseph.

"While we're on the road, we'll have to be the beacon in the dark where there is no hope," commented Amber.

"True," conveyed Don.

"We need bars over the windows of the vehicles. We'll use my RV, truck, and horsetrailer. We should get another SUV and a few school buses," answered Amber.

"We need a welder and the machine," stated Joseph.

"You have your task. Watch yourself," commented Amber.

"Why the school buses?" asked Shirley.

"Room for people that will go and the people we will find," answered Amber.

"Why the RV?" questioned Alex.

"It gives us room," replied Amber.

"It's a safe place," stated Don.

"Joseph. When you go out for the school buses, I want you to get some supplies for me. I'll tell you later," requested Amber.

"Now the Easter baskets," demanded Jessica.
