"Hey," Bellamy said, making Alia wake up, a warm hand on her cheek.

"How was first watch?" she asked sarcastically, sitting back up from where she had slouched over her work.

"Alia, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I walked away and left you. I went and apologized to the boy I slapped."

"Good. He deserved that apology."

"I know. I want to try to be a better leader, but I'm going to need help. I need your help."

"As long as you're willing to try," Alia relented.

"I am."

Two days seemed to go by fast. A few tents had been created throughout camp, rooming up to three or four. Clarke had been trying her best with Jasper, but she hadn't made any progress and his constant moans kept morale around the camp low. Alia had changed from braiding to working on a tent until she heard a girl scream. She looked up and listened. Hearing it again, she got up and looked for where the sound was coming from. She walked around the camp until she found Clarke over a small, screaming, sleeping body. Alia walked over beside her as Clarke gently laid her hand on the sleeping girl.

"Hey, wake up," Clarke said gently and the girl immediately sat up, startled. "It's okay. It's okay. It was just a dream."

"You're Charlotte, right?" Alia asked once the girl seemed a bit more calm. "I'm Alia."

"I'm Clarke," Clarke added. "It's okay to be scared."

"Do you wanna talk about it? Sometimes that helps me," Alia asked as she and Clarke moved to sit on either side of Charlotte.

"It's... my parents," she said. "They were floated and they... I see it in my dreams and I just..."

"I understand," Clarke said. "My dad was floated."

"My parents were floated too," Alia added. "I was a little younger than you."

"So, how did you end up here?" Clarke asked, not wanting to talk about her father anymore.

"Well, we were taking my parents' things to the redistribution center and I kind of lost it. They said I assaulted a guard."

"I can't say I blame you," Alia teased. Charlotte gave a small smile and wiped her nose.

"See that bright star up there?" Clarke asked and pointed to the one she was talking about. "That's the Ark orbiting above us. I think whatever happened up there, you know, the pain, maybe we can move past that now. Maybe being on the ground is our second chance."

"People have changed down here," Alia said. "Some changes are good, some aren't. Maybe we can too, but just into a better version of ourselves. Be one of the good changes. Not the bad."

"So, you really believe that?" Charlotte asked in a small voice.

"I'm trying to," Alia said and Clarke nodded. Charlotte wiped a stray tear with the back of her hand and leaned into Clarke's shoulder as Alia rubbed Charlotte's leg comfortingly. She soon fell back asleep.

"I don't think we've been introduced," Clarke said quietly, not wanting to wake up Charlotte. "I'm Clarke Griffin."

"Alia Jasso," she said, holding out her hand and Clarke shook it. "So, you and Wells are friends?" she asked, trying to make conversation.

"Not anymore."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry."

"It's fine."
