A/N: Please comment as you read. It makes my day.

I didn’t know how long I sat there in the silence, weeping for everything I’d done. When Max finally returned, he had a sullen Jamie in tow. Jamie was carrying a tray, with a cup of water and some dry pieces of bread.

I wanted to see the humor in us being fed water and bread while imprisoned, but all it took was one look at Harry for me to reconsider. I didn’t want to watch him being mistreated. Jamie walked over and bent down to whisper something to Harry. Then he straightened up and tore the duct tape off.

Harry groaned in response. I flinched at the sight of his busted lip being torn up. He kept quiet, though. Jamie allowed him to drink first, then he dipped the bread into the water and fed it piece by piece. I didn’t think it’d taste particularly well, but at the same time, I appreciated the thought. The water would make the bread easier to swallow.

“So,” Max said. “I was thinking about what you said before: about revealing my master plan, etc.” He sat down on the top of the table in the far corner. “I still disagree that I’m a villain, though. But I figured you’d ought to know the length I went to save you.” He looked at Jamie. “The lengths we went.”

I didn’t say anything—I just allowed him to speak.

“It wasn’t hard to find out where you were going to film the movie. I mean, any true fan would know about the signings, the concert and all of the extras.” He smiled. “In the end, it was really just a matter of finding the right hotel, but my dear brother here followed you. So we found out quickly.

“Of course, you didn’t actually bite on his invitation to show around—if it had just been that easy, so many things wouldn’t have happened. I broke into your room in order to scare you into seeking comfort in Jamie’s arms, but you already had someone else offering you help, didn’t you?

“We tried everything. The roofie was my idea. It seemed like such an obvious opportunity, but again, pretty boy over there held you away from me. Who would have thought he would care at all? I believe it’s all pretend, though. But who knows? Maybe you really did melt his icy heart.

“Finally, we knew that we had to strike at the concert. Especially after your boyfriend there huffed and puffed at Jamie. So we got in touch with a janitor who helped us control the automated locks on the stadium. All we had to do was get you out of the side-entrance, but of course, Jamie failed me. When I saw him being dragged out of there by several guards, I knew we had little to no time.” Max pushed himself off the table. “Lucky for us, Jamie overheard one of the guards mentioning the other exit. We slashed the tires on the getaway car and drove to retrieve you.” He smiled. “And here we are… Together at last.”

“Joy…” I said sarcastically. My spirit was starting to come back. If Max had wanted to hurt me, he would have done so already.

“You have no idea,” he said.

“So, you seem to have thought this entire thing out,” I said. “All the ups and downs and what-ifs, right?”

He smirked. “Of course. Only the best for you.”

“Well…” I looked around. “I have to pee. Did you consider that? You do know I’m human, right?”

The situation wasn’t funny, but still I found it extremely humoristic that I’d caught Max off-guard. What had he thought? That I somehow had removed the part of me that needed to pee like every other human?

Max looked unsure, running a hand through his hair. “Crap,” he muttered.

“I can take her.” It was Jamie who finally spoke up. I looked at him, once again confused by the way he seemed void of any feelings. He placed the cup back on the tray. “It won’t be a problem.”

Max didn’t look convinced. “You sure you won’t mess up?”

Jamie didn’t answer. Instead, he rose from the ground in front of Harry and looked at Max with a calm expression.

“Fine…” Max walked over to me. “But don’t think of anything funky. I have your boyfriend over there, and I’m going to stay right here until you’re back. If something goes wrong, he’s the one who’ll pay the prize.”

I nodded slowly, not taking my eyes off him. Then he grabbed my arm and kneeled down to loosen my bonds. I held my breath, contemplating an escape. But then I looked up and saw Harry. He was watching me quietly, and I knew he’d want me to run. But I couldn’t leave him here.

There was no doubt in my mind that Max would hurt Harry, and I had no idea how to get help—I didn’t know how far away I was. Max pulled me to my legs.

Jamie grabbed my elbow in a gentle, but firm, grip and led me out of the room. We walked out into the hall, where yellow overhead lights bathed the hallway in a sickening gleam. I felt faint, and only Jamie’s grip on my arm kept me from falling.

“Jamie,” I muttered. “You don’t have to do this.”

When he didn’t reply, I stopped. “Jamie,” I said louder this time. “It’s not too late. You can stop this!”

“Quiet,” he muttered. “He can still hear us.” He pushed me forward gently and led me around the corner. I didn’t know if I believe him. Sure, the hallways were spacey, but I doubted that Max would be able to hear anything from inside that room—I hadn’t been able to hear anything.

I tried to mark the way in my memory, but Jamie turned me around several corners. It was no use. Even if I managed to get out, I wouldn’t be able to find a way outside. As Jamie led me into an old, dirty underground bathroom, I let out a deep breath. How was I going to get out of this one?

A/N: Will they get out? Maybe if the Cami's fans breaks havoc the media will take her seriously.
