When I finally climb out of Carl's arms, I run out of the his office and down the hall and into my room without asking for assistance, but no one comes to fuss at me, but yet I really don't care.
Why do I care? He wasn't there when you needed him most. You don't need him; you've, basically, been living on your own since Mom and Dad died.
I hear the door open, but I don't look because I really don't want to talk right now. A hand touches my back and a soft voice tickles my ear.
"Jordyn, are you alright? What's the matter?" Carl asks softly.
"Logan. He-he's DEAD!" I reply.
I rise from my bed and throw my knife to the mirror across the room. It cracked it for sure.
"Jordyn, you'll be okay. I will help you get through this," he says. His voice makes me feel calm and safe.
"How?"
"We'll find a way, but until then, just come talk to me if you ever want to talk. Okay?"
"Okay."
I sit down on the bed and he sits beside me.
"Did they say there was gonna be a funeral?"
"I don't know. Just, don't go, please."
I snuggle up closer to him, and he puts his arm around me.
"How about we turn on the TV?"
I nod and he turns on the TV in the corner that only gets the news channel.
The first thing I see on it is Finnick's face.
"Hey, umm," Finnick says, "I have discovered something truly amazing that will change this world forever. I have found a stairway to Heaven through a girl. Her name is Jordyn Samuels. If you help me capture her, I will let you come to Heaven and experience it with me."
With that I cut off the TV and lay in Carl's lap until I fall asleep, but a voice tickles my ear right before I doze off, "I will never let anything bad happen to you."
I wake up an hour later, but not by just normally waking up. With a sack over my head.
