Warning: Smut. Threw in a little something for the fellow thirsty bitches out there *wink wink*. I'll let you know when and it'll be over when you see the three-hyphen line break.
A few weeks later
I knocked on the familiar door with shaking hands. I knew that everyone was going to be inside and that only made me more nervous. "Alex? What are you doing here?" It wasn't hostile, but my brain registered that it was. I stayed silent and stared at Dianna wide eyed. "Sweetie, is everything okay?" Her caring eyes broke me out of my trance and I nodded. "I need to talk to all of you." With a shout through the house, it was only a few minutes later that we were all seated in the living room. "I'm about to go pick Demi up after this but I wanted to come early to ask you all a question." A knowing smile came onto Eddie's face and Dianna's eyes lit up in excitement.
"I know that it's only been a year since Demi and I met and things have been going crazy ever since, but before Demi went back to rehab, we got back together. We spent the next few days together and I fell in love with the natural flow that we had. I knew before then that she was the one. I wanted to wait longer but those few days only made me want her more and I can't wait anymore. I promise to treat her the best that I can and never leave her. I'll give her the world if I could." I took a deep breath and blurted it out before I could stop myself. "I came here today to ask you for your blessing, and for Demi's hand in marriage." Dallas and Maddie squealed excitedly. Eddie was the first one to walk over to me and he pulled me into a tight hug. "Welcome to the family, kid." They all wrapped me in a group hug and when we pulled away, Dallas didn't hesitate. "Do you have the ring? Can we see it?" I pulled out the blue Tiffany box and they all gasped when they saw the ring. "It's perfect."
I left the house after that and started the drive towards the facility that Demi was in. I heard my phone ringing and smiled when I saw that Mel was calling.
"How did it go?"
"They said yes and now I'm on my way over."
"Congratulations Alex. I'm happy for you. Now hurry and pick her up so that I can see her again."
Mel came back home a day after Demi left. We shared a teary and heartfelt conversation where she confessed that she thought I kept everything a secret because I only wanted to keep the shares to myself. I explained myself and told her that I only kept it for leverage. I advised her to think through what she wanted to major in and follow her heart, but assured that the shares were hers if she decided to do business. It all fit like a puzzle because I didn't want to do anything with it and I knew that Mel deserved it. She flipped out when she found out that Demi was back in rehab and I had to listen to her complain about how the last time she saw Demi was in February and how much she missed her.
Flashback (very mild smut)
Our sweaty bodies laid beautifully tangled up in the sheets. It's the last day we had before Demi had to leave. I asked Demi to be my girlfriend again last night. She said yes and now, we were making the most of our last morning together. "That was great." I smirked at Demi and leaned down for a kiss. "It sure was." I got out of bed and pulled on a discarded shirt before going out to grab a bottle of water for each of us. Hydration is important, kids. "When do we have to go to my parent's?" I cringed and tossed her the bottle of water. "Please don't ever mention your parents so soon after we just had sex. It really brings down the mood, you know." She laughed loudly and pulled me back into bed. "Why don't I just make it up to you then?" I let out a loud moan when I felt her fingers tug on my nipples through my shirt. This was going to be a good morning.
Flashback Over
---
I smiled at the memory as I stepped out of the car and practically ran into the facility. A wide smile took over the look of anticipation she had on her face when she saw me. Her infamous loud laugh was music to my ears as I spun her around in my arms. "I missed you so much." I pulled her into a deep kiss and pulled away sheepishly when I heard the receptionist clearing her throat. "Okay lovebirds, sign this and you're good to go." We were back in the car within minutes and we started making our way back into LA. "We're stopping by your parent's place first. I know how much you missed them too and figured we can spend an hour or two there then we're headed to my place. Mel's making dinner for us since I can't cook because I'm going to be with you but we have the place to ourselves tonight." Demi nodded and pulled up our joined hands to place a sweet kiss on the back of mine. Everything was going just as planned but I couldn't help the anxiety building up in the size of a ring box that sat tauntingly in my jacket pocket.
