Since classes were over for the day, I plodded my way through the messy hallways with a million thoughts jumbling in my head. Greyson just left without a word when the teacher finally dismissed us. What the hell was his problem? I just brought up Cassie and he gave me the silent treatment. I don't understand why she's such a big deal. He'd only met her today, it was impossible for him to know her beforehand. Or was it? I just met him today too, at like 1am. What would I know about him? I shook my head. Why should I care about that freako giant? I don't care what goes on in his life. It's irrelevant. That's all he was. An irrelevance.

You promised Lucy you'd watch over him, a voice whispered in my head, so his problems are your problems now. I groaned in dismay even though the voice in my head was completely right. I already said I'd try, but what was I supposed to do? Stalk him?

I rubbed my temples in frustration. Just the idea made my head spin. I would in no way be doing something so stupid. So how else are you planning to keep your promise to Lucy? "Shut up, me," I muttered. A blonde looked at me like I'd just lost it, which was most likely true considering what my mind was urging me to do. I promptly exited the school facilities and inhaled deeply.

I caught sight of a familiar brunette across the school field. "Trev-" My voice faded when I saw two different figures next to him. Cassie and Greyson. The trio was speaking in rather hushed tones, so I snuck up closer and crouched behind a bush. I hadn't even realized what I'd done until I'd done it. Eavesdropping is not my thing. Though, if I leave now, it would look bad. I had to wait until they left first. I can't believe what I'm doing, but I tried to make out the words they spoke.

"As long as Trevie Wevie is there, I'll definitely come!" I could imagine Cassie twirling the tip of her hair with her fingers as she giggled. "W-Why am I getting involved?" Trevor stammered. "Just a day," Greyson said, in an unusual tone that hardly suited him. It sounded so desperate, I wanted to know why. Why would he be so insistent on spending a day with Cassie, a person he barely even knew? He was even willing to let Trevor tag along just to get a proper agreement. Perhaps it was love at first sight?

"Okay," Trevor finally answered, "Just a day." "So, tomorrow. 10 am, Hyde Park," Greyson reminded. For minutes, there was only silence so I peeked and saw they were gone. I stood up, dusting the dirt off my jeans. They were going to hang out tomorrow. What now? I looked at the evening sky, colored as if it were copper. Lucy's shift at the library would start soon. She's probably already on her way. Okay. To the library, we go, I thought and trudged away.

7:43pm. I pushed the doors open and immediately spotted Lucy on the librarian's table. Usually, the library would be deserted. I was the only one who visited regularly, which is why Lucy had taken an interest in me and we became friends. There was a scarce amount left of people in the world who still enjoyed books. This library. They don't know what they're missing. They may think that we were missing out, but the truth is, they were. A well-written novel was still a thousand times better than a movie.

At the sight of me, Lucy put down her book, entitled The Uglies, and smiled warmly. "Come to borrow another book?" she asked and added, "Oh, but you haven't returned the one from yesterday yet so I'm afraid you cannot." I widened my eyes in sudden realization, "I completely forgot. I left it in your car, Lu. I never took it home." She raised her brow and lost her smile, "I'll check, Allison. Though, I'm quite sure it's not." I nodded my head. Missing book issue later.

I fiddled with the end of my t-shirt, "I'm actually here about something else." She laughed at my nervousness, "Boy trouble?" "God, no. It's about Greyson."

She sat up straight in her chair and became stern. "I don't know if it's much," I took a wooden chair from a nearby table and sat across her, "but I feel like I should tell you." Then I did. I told her about Cassie, Greyson's reactions, and their little date. But to be honest, I didn't know if it was considered a date because there would be three of them. Lucy was a good listener. She never interrupted you. She just nodded her head encouragingly for you to go on. After I was finished, she said, "Greyson's never showed any real interests to girls before."

"But he just did. This is weird but I don't really think he "like" likes her. Gut feeling," I explained.

She stared into my eyes as if pulling out reasons to support my statement, "Perhaps. But hey, I'm free tomorrow. How about we go exploring?" She winked. I sighed, "You mean stalking, don't you?"

She grinned, "9:30ish behind a tree near the swings at Hyde Park." Well, that was specific.
