Draco's POV

~Time skip to Monday~

It was the third week of school when things started getting out of hand. I had ignored the glares and whispers of the students for the last two weeks, and honestly it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, but that all changed on Monday.

I was heading back from Transfiguration, my last class of the day, when I realized I had to go to the bathroom. So, naturally, I went to the closest one.

Everything went fine up until I walked out. Outside of the classroom was an assortment of students, some fourth years, some fifth years, and one that looked to be a sixth year. They were Ravenclaws and Gryffindors-no Hufflepuffs Or Slytherins we're in the group.

"Well, if it isn't Draco Malfoy." Came the voice of one of the fifth year Ravenclaws.

"What made you think you could come back here, death eater scum?" Demanded a Gryffindor boy with dark brown hair and light brown eyes. He looked to be in fifth or sixth year, height wise.

"I was forced." I spat, stepping toward the corridor I needed to get to. "Now, if you would please move, I need to get to my common room."

The Ravenclaw from before-a girl, with dark green eyes and long black hair-scoffed. "Yeah right." She said. "Ready?" I was tempted to ask what exactly they needed to be 'ready' for, but I didn't need to. They all pulled out their wands and shouted jinxes at me-all at once.

I forgot I had a wand in that moment, and tried to dodge the bright jets of light and strange misty colors that were flying at me, but I was hit.

And the pain, oh the pain, it felt like my skin was on fire, for Merlin's sake, and my eyes felt like they were going to pop out of their sockets, my nose felt like it was being stretched forward, my ears filled with a strange humming. I couldn't see or feel or hear anything other than my blistering hands, the sharp pains all over my body, and the strange humming. All I could do was lay there, twitching and wanting to scream, but I couldn't even open my mouth-I knew that because I was trying to, and it felt like I was attempting to pull my lips apart when they were glued together.

I didn't know how long I stayed on the floor before a teacher found me and carried me to the hospital wing. All I knew was the pain in my body and the humming in my ears.

Suddenly, my lips felt cool and moist, as though someone had pressed a damp towel over them before peeling it off quickly.

A liquid was poured into my mouth, and I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

~About three hours later~

When I woke up, my mind was strangely blank. I felt as though I should know where I was, but I didn't recognize the white walls, or the curtains around the beds-

Oh. I'm in the Hospital Wing. The realization came quickly-quicker than I had originally expected. There was the light Pitter-patter of raindrops outside, and I felt myself drifting off to sleep once more.

Harry's POV

Draco wasn't in classes Tuesday. This would have been fine, except he was my partner for Potions and my potion making abilities were dismal compared to his.

Oh, and the strange feeling in my gut, that told me that something was wrong. What though, that was the question.

"Harry!" Joshua called, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, yeah, fine." I sighed. Joshua and I were dating by now, and it was quite the topic for gossip. No one judged to my face however, one, because they knew just how far I could and would go to defend people I lo-like, two, because I was-like it or not-exceptionally good at curses, jinxes, and hexes, and third, I was the 'Savior of the Wizarding World.'

"Right so, no one believed that." Joshua said, setting his hand on Harry's shoulder. "What's wrong?"

"Worried."

"What about?"

"Draco wasn't in classes today, if you noticed."

"I did, there was a definite lack of sarcastic comments after every word uttered by anyone who wasn't in Slytherin."

"He doesn't do that anymore." Harry said defensively, genuinely surprised that he was defending Draco Malfoy of all people.

"He does though." Joshua countered. Now don't get me wrong, I liked Joshua. He's very kind, and very smart, and his name idea for George's new items was great, even though it gave me nightmares-but he won't accept the fact that Draco changed. Even Ron was accepting it, because Blaise and Draco often sat with us at breakfast, something that annoyed Joshua for some unknown reason.

"He doesn't." I sighed, knowing this conversation was going nowhere. "Not the point though-what if something happened to him? He could be hurt, or something."

"Who could possibly hurt him? He's not a child, Harry. He can defend himself."

"Right." I said, resting my head against Joshua's shoulder.

Joshua sighed in defeat. "Let's go, come on."

I sat up, confused. "Go where?"

"Hospital Wing. If Malfoy is indeed hurt, he'll be there, won't he?"

I stood and nodded. "Thank you Joshua."

Joshua smiled. "Sure."
