Harry's POV
I still hadn't figured out who attacked Draco, and it had been three weeks. Madam Pomfrey hadn't let Joshua and me into the Hospital Wing the day after, and when Draco came back to classes after breakfast Wednesday he looked totally normal.
Joshua has agreed to help me try to find out everyone who had been involved, but all we had were three Ravenclaws. The ones Joshua had overheard.
And I was getting annoyed. I was trying to find out who had felt the need to attack Draco, but no one came to mind. And Ron and Hermione hadn't been told, because Ron, while understanding that Draco was a better person, still didn't exactly like him, and Hermione had so much studying to do for her test at the end of the month.
"Thank you for helping me." I said to Joshua. He nodded and continued looking through our notebook full of suspects.
"I doubt it was anyone in Hufflepuff-they're too nice and forgiving." Joshua said after a moment.
"Or Slytherin." I added. "They all like him, I think."
"Not sure why they wouldn't." Joshua still wasn't convinced Draco was a good guy, but he didn't fight me on that point anymore. "So Ravenclaws and Gryffindors."
"Yeah." I said glancing over the names. Some were crossed out, but not that many.
"And we are not any closer to figuring out who because we figured that out two weeks ago." Joshua said.
I groaned. "Yeah."
"What are you two talking about?" Ron asked as he came over.
"Someone attacked Draco and we're trying to figure out who." I explained.
"Still on about that? Ah, well, have you asked Draco?" Ron asked, rolling his eyes.
"Yes, we have, Ron, it's just that he won't tell us. He says it's fine, he doesn't really care, and we should drop it." I said.
"Well then, why don't you?" Ron demanded.
"I've asked that too. He doesn't know." Joshua said. And it was true. I didn't know why it bothered me. It didn't make sense. A few years ago I probably would've delivered the blows myself. In fact, I had delivered the blows in sixth year, then regretted it, but that was because he almost died. And I didn't want to kill anyone.
"Mate, you should let this go. If it happens again, then it's a problem. If it doesn't, it was a one time thing, and we don't have to worry about it." Ron said. "Okay?"
"Yeah Harry," Joshua said, kissing my cheek gently. "We don't have to worry yet."
"I-Fine. But if it happens one more time..."
"Yes, of course, we'll find out who did it and they'll probably be expelled or at least suspended."

Draco's POV
It happened again. It had been three weeks since the attack, and I had thought it was just a one time thing. But it happened again.
The same group of kids, plus maybe a few more, caught me walking back from the Owlery where I'd just delivered a letter to my mother, not about the attack though-she'd be hysteric. She'd probably march into the school, dragging Mr. Johnson by the ear, and personally threaten each and every kid in the school, then get thrown into Azkaban with my father. But she wouldn't care in the slightest, because she was doing something to help me. And I couldn't let that happen.
"So, Malfoy, are you still a death eater? Working to bring daddy back?" Said the Ravenclaw girl. I had recently found out that her name was Jeniffer.
"I don't want my father back, thank you very much." I snarled. My brain told me that answering was stupid, but I was a Slytherin. And no one talked to me like that.
"Of course you don't. Why would you? It's not like you're Draco 'My Father Will Hear About This' Malfoy." The Gryffindor boy, his name was Connor, said. I figured these two were the leaders.
"Just leave me alone." I said. "I've done nothing, and plan to do nothing, to you."
"To us, specifically? Planning on doing something to someone else?" Jennifer asked innocently.
"No. I don't want to do anything to anyone." I said, trying to step around the group, but Connor grabbed my arm.
"Were you a death eater, Malfoy?" Connor breathed. "There's an easy way to know."
He pulled back my sleeve.
But it was on the wrong arm. I shook my arm away.
"Happy?" I asked. Connor looked shocked.
"You're-you're not a death eater!" He exclaimed.
Jennifer rolled her eyes. "Yes he is. Look." She grabbed my left arm. I tried to shake her away, but her grip was surprisingly strong. "Something to hide, Malfoy?" She breathed.
Jennifer pulled my sleeve back, revealing the pale skull with the snake coming out of its mouth. It was paler than before, but still noticeable.
"See?" Jennifer showed the crowd the mark. "He's evil. A monster."
I should have protested. I should have told them I had changed.
But I didn't. Because I didn't feel different. Sure, I hadn't wanted to do any of it, and sure, mine and my family's lives were on the line, but I had still agreed. Harry wouldn't have. Harry May have pretended to, but he would've figured out a way to save everyone, then he wouldn't care if he died. He had saved everyone. Just like when he went into the forest. He had known he might not get out.
He did, but that wasn't the point. I might not have known the whole story, but he went in there to save us. To save all of us. And I hadn't been able to say no, because I was a coward. A monster.
Evil.
And so, I didn't raise my wand to defend myself. I didn't even move.
I just let the spells come.
