**NEXT WEEK**

Bri was on her way to the grocery store. It was around 1pm and she decided that she'd go now and get it over with. Grocery shopping was never her favorite thing to do. Honestly, Ava was much better at it and sometimes she'd ask Ava to come with her, but things were still slightly awkward with them right now.

Bri had her list made on her phone and figured she wouldn't be in there for long. She didn't need very many things which was good. She pulled into the parking lot and found a spot close to the door. She grabbed a small cart before entering the store. She thought to herself where she needed to go first and headed to the produce section. She was nearing the end of her shopping trip when she remembered she forget to put one thing on her list. It was one spice that she used a lot and was running out of at home. It usually lasted a long time, so she rarely needed to buy it. She turned her cart around and headed towards the aisle with the spices.

She slowed down to look for the specific spice she needed. She wasn't too sure where it would be exactly, but she knew what the bottle looked like. She was happy when she finally found it on the middle shelf. However, there was a slight obstacle to getting it. There were two women was standing right in front of where she needed to be. Bri assumed that they were a couple. One woman was standing close to the cart holding a spice, reading the label. The other woman stood behind the first, with her hands wrapped tightly around her waist giving her a big bear hug. Her grip loosened after she kissed the neck of the woman holding the spice.

"Excuse me" Bri said while slowly walking towards the couple. They both said "Oh, sorry" and moved out of the way. Bri reached for her spice and walked back to her cart to put it in. When she turned her cart around, she locked eyes with the woman holding the spice. It was Maya.

Bri was sure that Maya saw her and recognized her. However, she played it off well. Maya's eyes grew wide for a split second, then she quickly lowered her head to avoid further eye contact. Typical- Bri thought to herself. This would be a perfect time to call Maya out on being an untrustworthy liar. She could embarrass her here in front of this random woman. After that, she'd know for sure that things were done with Ava. However, Bri decided against it.

Instead, Bri headed to the register to pay for her groceries.

--------------------------------------------

It's been a week and Ava still hasn't told Maya how she feels. She really doesn't know how to go about it, and she's waiting to ask Bri about it. Ava has been hooking up with Maya for a while now and she still hasn't told Bri. They are going to hang out at Ava's apartment today, so maybe Ava will get the courage to tell her then.

Bri came over and the two decided to just chill and watch Netflix. The show that they were watching went off and Ava decided to tell Bri what's been on her mind.

Ava stood up and started pacing back and forth as she usually does when she's nervous.

"What's wrong?" Bri asked.

"I need to tell you something" Ava said.

"Ok.... Tell me" Bri said.

"I don't think you will like what I say though" Ava said nervously.

"Well you won't know for sure until you tell me" Bri said.

"No, I'm pretty sure I know" Ava replied.

"Just tell me" Bri said starting to sound annoyed.

"Ok.. well. If I do, can you promise to just let me get it all out before you say anything?" Ava asked.

"Ok. I can do that" Bri promised.

Ava took a deep breath as she continued to pace back and forth.

"Ok. Well... Me and Maya are a little more than friends. We've been hooking up pretty constantly..."

Bri looked dumbfounded.

"I know you don't like her, and I know it's wrong, but she's great and I think I'm falling for her. I just don't really know how to tell her which is why I wanted to tell you so that you could help me, but I know how you will probably feel about the whole thing so I really didn't know how to tell you..." Ava said.

Bri stood up and started pacing around herself.

"Please say something. I hate the silence" Ava said.

"I really just don't understand. Why on earth would you do that?" Bri started "I mean what is it about her? Why her? She's not even good for you, trust me!" Bri continued.

"You don't know that! You are only seeing her from the outside looking in. It looks bad that she's engaged and stuff but she's really nice and sweet and kind and I love her" Ava admitted.

Bri shook her head "You don't love her."

"What? How do you know?" Ava asked.

Bri decided not to answer that  question and changed the conversation slightly. "Do you think no other woman would want to be with you? Why go after this one who's engaged?"

"I don't know. Maybe not. I mean it isn't that easy to find them and she was kind of just there. It just happened" Ava said.

"Boo, there are women out there who would want you. Women that are closer than you think probably!" Bri explained.

"Maybe" Ava said holding her head down. "I know I was dumb for falling for her, but I love her now, and I think she may love me too."

"Oh my gosh" Bri said touching her temples as she walked around.

"What?" Ava asked.

"Just stop saying that.. Stopping saying what you think about her because you don't know" Bri said with a frustrated tone.

"What are you talking about? I'm just assuming! I would hope she feels the same way. I mean we hang out all the time and she texts me saying these nice things and we talk about our future and-

"SHE DOESN'T LOVE YOU!" Bri blurted out as she interrupted Ava.

"There's no way you could know that for sure" Ava said.

Bri took a deep breath to calm down and sat back down on the couch. She was trying to decide whether or not to tell Ava what she saw at the grocery store. She would never want to hurt Ava, but this was getting out of hand. She needed to come back to reality. How could she think she loves this girl who is engaged to someone else?

"I saw her at the grocery store with another woman" Bri finally said after a moment of silence.

"I don't believe you. That could have been anybody. She has other friends" Ava said.

"Friends who hold her waist and kiss her neck?" Bri asked.

"That didn't happen" Ava stated.

"I'm telling you the truth" Bri replied.

"You never did like her. You'd say anything to get me to stop seeing her" Ava said defending Maya.

"Oh my gosh. You know what. If that's what you think then okay. I was seriously trying to help you. I thought maybe that information would help you make a better decision, but I guess not. I wasn't even going to tell you because I knew you'd react like this. I'm leaving now. I'm tired of hearing about this woman. You continue to do whatever you want" Bri said angrily.

Bri left and Ava started to tear up. She hated when Bri was mad at her. That talk definitely didn't go as planned.
