The next morning Ava woke up in Bri's arms. She slowly turned around to face her trying not to wake her up. However, Bri woke up anyway. She was always a light sleeper."Hey" Ava said smiling.
"Hey" Bri said back smiling as well.
"How'd you sleep?" Ava asked.
"Pretty good. What about you?" Bri asked.
"Good. Thanks to you" Ava said laughing.
"Oh! I'm glad that could make that happen" Bri said laughing.
There was silence for a while. The two laid on their backs thinking about last night. It was very spontaneous, but it still felt right. There was a connection there. Bri was right. That was love, and it did feel very different that lust.
"So um. I should tell you".. Bri started as she turned to look at Ava.
"Me and Jess are a thing now" Bri continued.
"Oh. Ok... I get it" Ava said sadly as she stood up.
"Wait no" Bri said as she sat up on the bed.
Ava walked to her dresser to find pants and a top to put on.
"I'm listening" Ava said as she walked back to the bed and sat down.
"I want this. I want this so much" Bri admitted.
"Really?" Ava asked.
"Yes. There's no question about it."
"But what about Jess?" Ava asked.
"I will find a way to break that off. What Jess and I have is nothing compared to us" Bri admitted.
Ava blushed and tried to look away.
"I'm serious" Bri said.
"Ok" Ava stated.
"So tell me how you feel" Bri said.
"I want the same thing. I guess I'm just a little worried" Ava stated.
"About what?" Bri asked.
"About ruining what we already have. You're my best friend. If we do this and it doesn't work out, being friends after might be too awkward to bear... then that will be like losing you twice."
"I see" Bri said sympathetically.
"Yeah" Ava said quietly.
"I mean.. I've thought about all of that, but I still think it's worth it" Bri said seriously.
"Really?" Ava asked.
"Yes" Bri said sternly. "I think we can still be friends if things don't work out too, right? People do that all the time. It might be awkward at first. We may have to step away from each other for a while and come back, but we should be able to figure it out if it's something we both want right? I would never want to lose you as a friend either."
Whoa! Bri was being so honest right now. That's what Ava loved about her. She never had to question what she really meant or if she was hiding something. Bri was always straightforward and honest. That was so attractive to Ava. So many people lacked this skill- including Ava herself. It's not that she doesn't want to be honest all the time. It's just that she gets nervous and she doesn't always know how to say stuff so she'll just keep avoiding the conversation as long as she can.
"Yeah. I agree. We should be able to... but..." Ava started.
"But what?...." Bri asked.
"I mean I'm also worried that it won't be as good as you are expecting."
"What do you mean?" Bri asked.
"I just feel like you have this expectation that everything is going to be amazing because we've been friends and we have this great connection, but what if it's nothing like that?" Ava said admitting her concern.
"I hope it's like that boo, but I know all relationships take work. There will be a huge transition going from friends to a relationship. There will be good times and I'm sure they'll be arguments too. I'm willing to work through all of that" Bri said sincerely.
Wow. Bri's answers were perfect- Ava thought to herself. It's almost like she's thought about this before or something. Everything she said made sense and she was so reassuring without being pushy.
"I see what you mean. I guess you're right" Ava said uncertainly.
"You still sound concerned. What else are you thinking?" Bri asked.
"Nothing..."
"Are you sure?" Bri asked.
"Yeahhh..." Ava said.
"Hmm.. ok. Well I don't want to rush it. I really want this, but I can't make you do anything you don't want to do. Let's just take some time to think about it and then we can see what happens" Bri suggested.
"Ok. That actually sounds really good. Let's do that." Ava said as she breathed a sigh of relief.
"There are other things we need to talk about too.. but I'll wait on that" Bri said laughing.
"What? No. Let's talk about it now" Ava said laughing as well.
"No. No. Let's wait. If you become my girl, it will come up."
"Hmm.. well what if I say yes now?" Ava said smirking.
"Well then......We'd have to do something else first....then we could talk" Bri said as she slapped Ava's ass.
"Ohh really?!?!? My answer is yes then!" Ava said excitedly.
"Girl, stop" Bri said laughing. "You know you don't mean that yet."
"Ok. Ok. Fine" Ava said kissing Bri's cheek.
"What was that?" Bri asked.
"A kiss.. what do you mean?" Ava said laughing.
"We just spent the whole night together. I can't get a real kiss?" Bri asked.
"When you become my girl, you can get a real one" Ava said laughing. She rolled over to get out of the bed, but Bri pulled her back and got on top of her.
"I don't think that's going to work for me" Bri said smirking.
"Now you see how I feel" Ava said laughing.
"Mmm we might have to compromise then" Bri said as her hand wandered down Ava's body.
A slight moan left Ava's mouth.
"Can I have a kiss now?" Bri asked.
Ava leaned up to kiss Bri. Her lips were so soft. Ava let Bri take the lead. This was something she wasn't used to. Most of the time she led things with Maya and she didn't mind, but this was different. Letting Bri take control was such a turn on for her.
Bri took her time kissing Ava. She made sure not move too fast. She loved kissing Ava. She took her time to taste and suck her lips. After the long, passionate kiss, the two laid back down and enjoyed each other's company for hours.
