Marcel had been stalling Klaus and Rebekah for most of the day because he was trying to get Davina out of St. Anne's Church's attic and out of New Orleans into some nice house outside of town to keep her away from Klaus and the witches.
The witches wanted to complete the Harvest, which was some super-lame-ass myth about sacrificing four girls and renewing their power, only to be brought back a few months later. Eight months ago, Marcel, the other vampires and I had stopped the Harvest, but we had been too late. Three of the girls had died. Davina obviously hadn't been one of them.
