Hey, guys. (:

Here's chapter 16.

Sorry for the long wait. I know that I have made this story boring, used the same overused plots, but... Please bear with me.

Enough about me... Go onto the story!

Well... They left. I'm in Uni now. And let me tell you this. It's so complicated! I'm just joking. It's okay for an average student. But... I would laugh at a 'not as bright' student. They would fail miserably.

"Maddie? Are you okay?" My newest friend, Tess, asked. I had helped her unpack in her dorm. She lived in a single because she was really shy and she... Well, lets just say that she couldn't really make friends well?

"Oh... Yeah! I'm fine. You know... Just thinking."

"Sorry... I'm new here. You know. Have you ever heard of an American living in London?" Tess asked referring to herself.

"It's ironic, actually. I used to be a British living in America." I chuckled.

"Really? Where in America?"

"Uh... I think it was New York? Yeah. It was definitely New York. My mum got a job there when I was about the wee bit age of 12. We lived there for a year and a half before she got fired."

"Why did she get fired? If you don't mind me asking."

"Not at all! She got fired because... erm... It was because..." I thought about it for a few minutes. "Ah! Right. She got fired because she was the worst bank accountant they had. Plus she stole money."

"Stole money? Why?! She worked as a bank accountant. Don't they get paid a lot?"

"Let's just say that, she needed money to send me away from her."

"What?! What do you mean 'send you away from her'?! That's child neglect!" she exclaimed.

"Oh.... It's quite alright. I... Never really liked mum. Ever."

"But..."

"I know she gave life to me and all, but sometimes that's not a good reason, innit?"

"Innit? Sorry... I really haven't looked at British reference books since I came here."

"Isn't it. Innit means isn't it."

"Oh. Well... Yes I guess it isn't that much of a good reason. But... Do you at least love her a little bit?"

"Of course! If she ever does love me back."

"She doesn't love you?"

"It seems like it. She... I think that she only wants to hurt me. She's saying that I was the reason my dad divorced her. She really loved him and well, she hates my guts."

"I'm sorry." Tess hugged me and tears streamed down her face.

"Thanks... But it won't do anything." she released me from the hug and wiped her eyes.

"Sorry, for just breaking down in front of you like that."

"It's alright. I'm glad you cried my tears."

"You're welcome. Oh! And what's this I heard about you and Harry Styles?"

"What? What do you mean what you heard between me and Harry Styles?"

"Oh... Hmm... I don't know. The fact that he called you up on stage in their first concert to ask you out but you declined?"

"What?! Where did you hear that? Harry never asked me out!" I blushed a scarlet red and tried covering my face.
