To say I'm excited would be an understatement. If anything my excitement grew once we were actually inside the park. It wasn't hard to find Matt and the others once we were inside of the park, but my attention was definitely elsewhere.
"So the whole idea of this vlog is to try and ride Splash Mountains one hundred times." Matt started to explained once myself and the other three joined him. "You guys know how to vlog. Thea, if you want to be in the video its more than ok with us. If you don't, just try to stay out of the direct line of the cameras. Editing can work around you if its not to much. Other than that. Lets have some fun people."
Cheers broke out within our group once Matt finished talking. I had no clue where we were headed, and even if I did, there was no way I was paying attention to where we were going. I let the group lead ahead, trying to take as much in as I could.
Damien broke away from the other two and slowed his pace to match my own. Flashing a smile down at me before he guestured around him.
"So, what do you think?" He asked, sliding his hands into his pockets as he walkes along side me.
I stumbled over my words. Not able to find just what I wanted to say about the experience. "It's... Wow. Its even better than I expected it to be. Thank you again for letting me tag along. " i said breathlessly.
Damien nudged me gently with his shoulder, a soft smile on his face.
" T, your part of the family. You're more than welcomed to join in on our adventures. I'm glad your here. I'm looking forward to getting to know you some more. " he said before jogging ahead to jump back into the vlog with Shayne and Courtney.
Normally I hated when people called me T. My name was short enough that it didn't need to be shortened even more. But for some reason or another, it didn't bother me when Damien said it.
Staying behind the group when they cued up for Splash Mountain making sure to stay out of the direct line of the camera. I didn't care to much about being in the video. If it happens it happens. Working for smosh, it would have happened sooner or later. My eyebrows raised when I heard Shayne mention they were trying to ride Splash Mountain one hundred times today. Turning to look at Matt who was standing next to me who only shrugged.
"Welcome to the world where we have no clue what these people are gonna do half the time." He said, chuckling before turning his attention back to his phone.
Quickly losing count of how many times they have gone down the ride after the first few. I had joined them the first couple of rides, but sat out the last set to look around the area. I was still distracted by watching kids run up to someone dressed up as Winnie the Pooh, smiling fondly, leaning back against a fence.
Jumping slightly when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I didn't even see Damien approach me. Stepping in front of me, a smile on his face as looked down at me.
"Still having fun?" He asked.
"Of course! There's so much to see and the people watching is real. " I replied, looking around briefly before looking back at him.
"Good, I'm glad. But I'm also hungry. Want to grab a bite to eat with me?" He looked towards a section filled with different food vendors, taking a step in that direction.
"Definitively!" Quickly following after him.
Finding what we wanted to eat and an empty table before sitting across from each other. We ate silently for a few minutes. Damien wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before looking up at me.
"So how're you liking LA? You're not from here are you?" He asked as he pushed away his empty plate and rested his arms on the table in front of him. Shaking my head at his question, finishing chewing the food in my mouth.
"It's pretty much the opposite of what I'm used to. I grew up in Rhode Island. There you can drive a half hour and be in Massachusetts or Connecticut. Here you drive a half hour... And you're barely out of LA. " Grinning at Damien before shrugging. "But I can't complain. A lot more to do around here. And I don't have to travel out of state to do something different."
"That's true. Its fast paced here. But once you get in the swing of things, you'll like it a lot more." Dames replied. reaching forward to grab my now empty plate as well as his own before he stood up and walked them over to the trash. I followed after him, pushing my sunglasses back up my nose. "Hell, if you ever want to take a day trip to see LA, shoot me a text. "
"Sounds like a plan." I replied to his offer as i flashed him a smile.
Splash Mountain never reopened, so the rest of the trip went by pretty quick. Glancing over my shoulder as we walked out, taking one last look at the park as i followed Shayne, Courtney and Damien back to his car.
"Shotgun fools!" Shayne yelled once we were within eyesight of the vehicle, causing myself and Courtney to groan. The blonde man stuck his tongue out at us before jogging towards the car. I linked my arm through Courtney, laughing at her death glare at Shayne.
"Come on, we can plot his death in the back," I teased, bumping my hip against hers. That caused her to grin.
"And that is why we're friends. You understand the important stuff!" She exclaimed before climbing into the back seat.
Courtney tapped my shoulder once we reached the offices, startling me awake.
"i'm up, i'm up" I said, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. Tripping slightly yet managing to keep my balance as I climbed out of Damien's car. Shayne and Courtney both gave me a quick hug goodbye before walking to their cars and driving off, leaving me with Damien who had just climbed out of his car and walked over to me. Leaning against his vehicle as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"So about that invite to show you around town, " he started. My stomach dropped at that comment, thinking he was pulling out of the invite. "Any plans for tomorrow? Sundays a free day. I mean, I have my stream around noon, but i may go on early. If you want to grab lunch and I can show you the highlights of the city?"
Signing internally when he finished talking. Smiling up at him as I shook my head.
"I guess now I have plans." Brushing a few stray strands of hair from my face as I watched him grin down at me.
"Great! I'll text you around noon tomorrow." He said before approaching me and wrapping his arms around me. Quickly returning the hug, my head rested on his shoulder. The hug lasted a quite a few seconds longer than what would count as just a friendly hug. When we finally pulled away I headed towards my car.
"See you tomorrow Damien." I called over my shoulder as i climbed into my vehicle.
The smile stayed on my face the whole ride home and didn't go away till after I fell asleep that night. It was definitely looking like the move to LA was worth while.
