It was finally happening... After three grueling weeks of constantly pulling and dragging, the couch was finally positioned in the perfect spot in the middle of the living room. Sucking in a deep breath before dropping backwards onto the couch.
It was weird being in an entirely new place, not knowing anyone, no family near by. But I was slowly getting used to it. It was a month into the city. A long month of navigating new streets and a whole new traffic setting... Don't even get me started on the traffic. I'm from Rhode Island, we know when to avoid traffic, hardly ever getting any besides summer months or up in the city. Even then it wasn't nearly as bad as Los Angeles traffic. Thankfully my new job was about a 15 minute drive from my new apartment.
Speaking of new job... I glanced down at the watch on my wrist. Swearing softly under my breath before shoving myself up off the couch.
I barely had time for a quick shower, putting on a small amount of makeup, basically only mascara, eye liner and a soft pink lip stain. Looking up at the mirror over the sink as I rubbed my lips together to spread the stain before nodding my head at my reflection.
"It'll do" I said to myself, turning around to walk into the adjoining bed room. Digging through the box of clothes that sat in front of the closet just waiting to be put away. Finding my favorite pair of black high waist shorts that showed off the wolf tattoo on my thigh along with a plain white tee which tucked the front into my shorts. Grabbing a pair of black vans that sat on the rack near my door before walking out of the room.
Making sure to grab the black back pack that sat by the door once I pulled on my sneakers, double checking that my camera and laptop as well as my badge for work was tucked safely inside. Locking the door shut behind me once leaving the apartment as i made my way downstairs.
It was a short drive to the building where I worked. I had started a week after arriving and so far, I enjoyed it. The co-workers were nice, I liked the job i had to do, and the lack of a required uniform made it a lot easier to be excited to go to work everyday. My job is working for the marketing team for a YouTube channel called SMOSH, as well as a photographer when needed.
Today's the first day where I actually get to photograph the team in some new merchandise as well as meet everyone else I will be working with. Previously i had met Ian and Matt in the video interview before moving out here once I had officially been hired. I had met a few of the other workers throughout the past 3 weeks, but not most of the squad.
Flashing a smile at the girl in the front desk as I made my way into the back offices, saying hello to a few of the other people back there on my way to the marketing office. After carefully placing my bag on the desk I was assigned I pulled my dark burgundy hair into a pony tail out of my face. My phone let out a chime once I sat down. Pulling it out and checking the text, realizing it was from Sarah.
** Morning! Whenever you get into the office this morning, we're setting up on the back set if you would like to come over and meet everyone before we start the shoot.**
Quickly typing out my response ** Just came in. I'll grab my camera and meet you guys back there in 5!**
I pulled the zipper open on my backpack, grabbing my camera from my bag and slinging the strap over my shoulder. Patting my back pocket to make sure my phone was in its place. Making sure to grab my water bottle before heading out of the office.
It took me a few extra minutes to find the right room that Sarah had told me to come to. Pulling the door open and stepped to the side as someone walked out. Looking around trying to spot someone i knew before noticing Matt, Sarah and Ian talking towards the front of the room. Dodging my way through the small crowd as I made my way towards them.
"Thea! Hi, how're you?" Sarah asked me brightly when i reach the group, both Matt and Ian smiling warmly at me.
"I'm great, thank you. Yourself?" I replied as I smiled at the trio.
"Good good. Can't complain.. Yet" She said with a light laugh. " OK so the plan in, get the crew in, do some introductions, then you can shoot a few and we'll see how that goes. Hopefully they won't give you too much trouble, but you never know for sure."
I nodded my head as she spoke. "Works fine for me"
It took about ten minutes for everyone who was involved to show up. I had previously met Courtney and Keith before when I first started, and i knew the other mainly from people pointing them out to me in the hallways. Not really one for YouTube videos before I started, only seeing a few thanks to my brother.
"Ok nerds. Lets get this started." Ian called out to the group before gesturing in my direction. "This is Thea, shes new to the marketing team and is gonna help with some pictures and whatever we can wrestle her into. "
Shaking my head as I smiled and stepped forward. Courtney waved at me with a welcoming smile as she stepped forward and started the introductions.
"So obviously we have already met. " She started "But lets meet everyone else. That blonde dude is Shayne, the tall beanstalk is Noah, shortie is Olivia and.... " She trailed off as she looked around the room.
We all turned as we heard someone race into the room slightly out of breath.
"Sorry! Sorry, i had to pee" A dark haired man with blue streaked in the front of his hair said.
"Ah, and that's Damien." Courtney added.
Damien grinned in my direction and held out his hand which i reached out to shake with my own.
"M' lady" He said as he bowed his head slightly then stepped back with the group.
I could feel my heart skip a small beat before i turned around.
"Well like Ian said, I'm Thea. Hopefully I wont take up to much of your guys time today, but definitely looking forward to working with you all. " I said, smiling at the rest of the group.
I certainly was looking forward to working with that last guy who came in...
