Chapter 31

~Lee's POV~

so let me help you catch up on what happened in 6 months.

I'm living in Somerset West still, but my parents' lives also here. My brother works for me as my architect, Nikki and William got married and Julian founded his parents. My shop is now famous because of the five girls I saved back then. My interior design business came true. No to brag, but I'm national wide famous. Connor and I have contact, but Ryan? I don't know where to he disappeared. I know that he blames himself, but I forgave him. Yeah, and a miracle happened. I am able to walk again.

*July*

Today I have a client in Johannesburg who wants me to renovate his whole apartment. He also pays my nights that I'm staying in a hotel. Nikki and I became business partners in the design company while William runs my café with Julian.

"I'm going to book us in and then I will help you with your suitcases." I tell Nikki while I'm struggling with my suitcases. The next moment when I turn I tripped over my suitcase on someone's arms.

The man grabs me by my arm and helps me up. "Thanks" the guy looks angry and shoves me out of the way. Yeah sorry, dude I will watch where I go next time okay.

As I book us in and got settled the client calls. He tells me where his keys are and where to go. I grabbed my notepad and went to his apartment. I make notes where I want some changes and show the handy guys where to start breaking stuff. I need so stuff from the hardware store so Nikki will fetch me.

She's fifteen minutes late, but there's no rush.

*notification from Nikki*

Sorry, I'm kinda stuck in the elevator, but I send a Black SUV. It would be any moment.

Suddenly I look up and there was a black SUV. DAMNNN isn't this thing pretty!! I climb in and without looking the driver asks me "where to Ms?" wait a minute this voice sounds familiar. No, it can't be!! As I turned my head it's Mack!! Ryan's personal chauffeur.

"NO WAY!! Mack is it really you?" he turns his head and smiles wide. "Yes Ms. It's really me!" but wait how come is he the driver. Without asking someone from the back answers my thoughts....

Suddenly my hearts stops...it's him.

"Mack will you take us to my penthouse please?" he asks nicely. I can't say anything, because honestly, I don't know how to react.

As we pull over he opens my door and helps me out. "Nikki gave me a call and your location. Please don't be mad at her? I insisted when I saw her at the hotel." He says without looking at me. Damn how I missed this man. Why isn't he looking at me? Why did he run away?

When we reach his pent house I stand outside his door. No matter what you will be fine. I remembered myself. Yes, this is my way of coping with everything. The head doctor told me how to act and react.

I walk in and wait for him to speak up. "You probably wonder why I took you here?" he asks and makes eye contact for the first time. The poor guy looks as if he has a lot of stress. I just nodded to his question.

"Well, I don't know even." He scratches the back of his head. he's looking nervous. To break this vibe I walk around and out on the balcony. He follows.

"Look Ryan I'm not mad at you. I forgave you. You had your reasons for everything. Who am I to judge?" he sits and stares at me. Why is he staring at me?

"I ran away because I felt guilty. He took something really special away from you. I knew that it was very special to you. I'm the reason..." "Stop apologizing for the second time. I heard what you said that night. It's really okay. I got through it and if it wasn't for everything I won't be the woman who I'm today." I stand up and sits next to him.

He looks at me confused. "The night after my op, your were apologizing and then you left my room... " he nods his head with confirmation and just sits there.

I sit back and enjoy the pretty view while he overthinking everything. "You know, you can stop overthinking and enjoy the view with me while I'm in town." He stands up and walks in.

Uhmm okay?

The next moment he comes out with a book in his hand... wait that's my journal!!

"Where did you get that?" I try and grab it out of his hand but I'm too short. He just stands there with this big smile.

He steps closer. "I will never leave your side ever again. You are the reason why people deserve happiness. You are the reason why people must believe in love. Lee McGregor, from this day on I will protect you with my whole heart. Will you do me the honor and marry me?" he is on his one knee and I'm shocked.

Here comes my parents and everyone out. Wait they planned it??

With tears in my eyes, I nod my head like a bubblehead and he embraces his feelings through his kiss. Everyone cheers him on and for some reason, the one who hurt me so bad is the one with the glue for my heart.
