A week after, Jamie and Claire head back to Lallybroch with Ian, leaving Maggie and Fergus to themselves.  Since that night where they slept together, something between them had changed.  What was once harmless glances, was now something deeper.  Since the fire, Fergus hasn't left her side.  The day went on and by mid-afternoon, Fergus got ready to go outside.

"I will be back with bread, Maggie!" Fergus yelled out to her.

"Actually, Fergus, can you help me, please?" Maggie yelled back, through the door.

Opening the door to her room, Maggie turned around,

"I need help with tightening my laces, with my hand...." Maggie stated.

"Of course," Fergus says, cleeks flushed.

He walks into her room, and as she turns around, he starts tightening the laces.  There is an awkward silence and a sense of sexual tension in the room.  Maggie becoming breath became shorter, from the corset and the tension.  All that could be heard was the sharp intakes of breath from Maggie and the clearing of the throat from Fergus.  Slowly, Fergus would tighten the laces of the corset, not wanting to hurt her but also not wanting this moment to end.  But alas, the moment did end and Fergus ties up the remaining laces and helped her put the petticoat over the corset.  Maggie turned around halfway through putting on the petticoat, and as it came over her head, their eyes met and they both paused, looking at each other.

Time stopped as the two leaned into each other, still looking into the eyes of each other.  The closer they leaned in, the heavier they breathed.  Then, all of a sudden, their lips touched lightly then all at once.  Fergus' hands went to Maggie's waist to hold her closer, as Maggie's hands went to his cheeks.  Finally, after all of the longing looks, and the years of knowing each other, they became one.  After a few seconds of kissing, Maggie pulled away and looked Fergus in the eyes.

Instantly regretting moving away from him, she moved back into him, kissing him again, but this time with more passion.  Fergus undid the laces he had just done up and Maggie undresses Fergus in return.  They fell onto her bed and simple kissing became more.......

They woke later that day to find it was dark outside.  Maggie turned to look Fergus in the eyes and they laughed softly together.

"Hi," Fergus whispered to her.

"Hi," she whispered back.  "Are you hungry?"

"For you, mon amour," Fergus said kissing her once again.

She smiled into the kiss and put a hand to his cheek.  Pulling away, "I am serious Fergus because I am starving."

"Well, there is no bread. I was going to get some, but then I got distracted by you." Fergus said cheekily.

"Distracted by me!" Maggie said with fake shock. "Monsieur, I believe it was you who distracted me."

"Well, if you say so, I guess we had better make sure it was me who distracted you then," Fergus added with a smirk on his face, climbing over Maggie.  Maggie laughed out loud as he silenced her with a kiss.

------------

As they awoke the next time, after repeating their actions a few more times, they decided to finally get out of the bed and do something other than the previous acts.  They get changed, each other staring at the body of the other.

Once they were both finished dressing, they find it was becoming morning in about an hour or so and decided to have breakfast.  Maggie prepared the food whilst Fergus stoked the dying fire.  Once he was done with the fire, he walked over to her and snuck his hand around her waist and kissed her once more.

"I love you, Maggie.  From the moment you arrived at Lallybroch.  You are my soulmate.  I want to be with you until the day I die," Fergus declared.

Maggie, knowing how serious he is, responded, "I love you to Fergus, I think I always have."

"Then, Maggie Whitman, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" Fergus asks, getting on one knee, taking her hand in his, kissing it gently.

"Of course I will, Fergus." Maggie agreed and immediately kissed him, getting on her knees to be level with him.

"I do not have a ring for you, but I wish to marry you here, right now," Fergus explained.

"We can become handfast, and do the formalities later with everyone," Maggie suggested.

Without delay, Fergus agreed and took off his cravat and tied it around their wrists as they kneeled in front of the fire.  They look into the eyes of each other and say vows to each other, professing their deep love and devotion to each other, sealing it off with a passionate kiss.

"Everyone will be so surprised when they hear," Maggie said

"I do not care what anyone says.  I love you and I want to be with you till the end of my days.  I want to have twenty children with you, and then we grow old together." Fergus says with a smile.

"TWENTY CHILDREN!" Maggie exclaimed, "Oh My Goodness! You better go find yourself a different wife, I will not be having twenty children." Her smile matching Fergus'.

As they finish their conversation, the dawn breaks with the sun streaming into the house.

All of a sudden, Maggie remembered that there was no bread, and said to her husband,

"As soon as the market is open we have to go buy some bread."

"Of course, ma femme." Fergus replied, a loving look on his face.

So much happened!

They kissed

They had sex (no description of that, sorry)

They got 'married'

This might have felt rushed (sorry) but I felt it was right to get the story moving into more of the series events.

Let me know what you think!! x
