Unfortunately, not long after Jamie's release from the jail on board, after a storm produced a huge wave that swept the captain and a few others from the boat, killing them, Jamie is now in charge and unsuccessfully they managed to run aground on some shoals after the storm not too far from land and they decided to travel to the land so they could fix the ship.
After fixing the masthead, the group head back to the ship and are preparing to sail off, still looking for Claire. However, fate had other things in mind and as the men were working away, getting ready to sail, Maggie noticed something shining into her eyes from the shore. Turning her head, she could see the shimmering object in the hands of someone on the beach, waving their hands trying to get her attention. Seeing a telescope not far ways from her, Maggie grabbed the object and pointed it towards the figure.
"Oh My God," Maggie whispered to herself before the shock wore off and she alerted the others. "Jamie!" She yelled.
"Aye!," He yelled back, talking over to the woman.
"Its Claire!" SHe announced, pointing to the beach, handing the telescope to the man.
As soon as he could see it was Claire, he yelled her name before getting into one of the boats and rowing to the beach.
As Maggie saw the reunion between the two lovers, she had a loving smile on her face as she saw Fergus looking at her.
Walking towards each other, Fergus held her in his arms as he pressed a kiss her forehead.
----------
After most of the crew came back onshore to stay there a few nights or so, and after the reunion of Claire and Maggie and Fergus as well, Jamie wants to leave as soon as everyone s ready so that they can get to Jamaica to get Ian. However, he has a surprise. He gives his blessing for Maggie and Fergus to be married here on the island and as luck would have it, Claire knows a priest.
So as the crew organise a place to camp, Claire and Jamie, along with Maggie and Fergus head to the village where the priest is so that they can get married. When they get to the village, after some consideration the priest agrees to officiate the ceremony.
Jamie and Fergus wanted the wedding to be as traditional as they could have it so Maggie and Claire spent a few hours together to get ready whilst the men went off to do the same.
Claire and Maggie are sitting together with Maggie asking Claire any advice about marriage and had one question, in particular, she wanted to ask.
"How do I make sure that we don't have kids yet?" Maggie asked the aged woman. "I'm not ready for children yet, and I just want to enjoy being with Fergus for a while. I don't want to end up like my father, worrying about children all of the time, I want to have a life." She adds.
Claire looks at the young woman in awe that she wants to lead a productive life instead of having children straight away as she had seen so many other do, "I can show you if you would like. There are some herbs and potions you can take to halt having children." She says smiling.
"Thank you, Claire," Maggie says nearly, in tears the realisation of what was to come finally came to her. "I am so happy" She adds smiling wider than Claire. "I am marrying the love of my life in a paradise, with people who are like my family around. I hope that one day... I can call you my mother." She says hesitantly.
"I would be honoured, Maggie. You remind me of my own daughter, Brianna." Claire says, hugging the woman.
Smiling into the hug, Maggie adds, "My mother died when I was really young so it was just my father and myself for a bit until we went to Lallybroch for father to see his old friends. That is where I met Fergus, and he became my best friend, and then my lover. Isn't it funny how a life of such sorrow can later be a life of such joy," Maggie finished.
The two smiling at each other, Claire proudly and Maggie with such content.
After the conversation ended, Claire helped Maggie into a dress from one of the locals' wedding earlier in the year; a simple dress of cream fabric. Then Claire went outside to pick flowers for her bouquet, some simple frangipanis. Once Maggie was ready to be wed, Claire stepped outside to see if Fergus was ready as well. Coming into the cabin where the men were, Claire saw the young man step out with some brown clothes and dressed in a scarf around his neck.
"Oh, you look so handsome Fergus," Claire said hugging the man.
"Thank you, Milady," Fergus said in return. "Is she ready?" He asked the woman.
"Yes, go on get ready, I'll see that she gets there." Claire finished the conversation, walking back to the cabin that housed Maggie.
"Come on, let us get you married." She said to Maggie.
---------
As Maggie stood at the end of the temporary aisle to her 'husband', the widest grin appeared on her face, and it mirrored Fergus'.
Walking down towards him, Maggie had never felt like her life was more perfect than right now. As she reached the end of the line and stood beside Fergus, she gave him a side smirk, as did he.
"You look beautiful," He whispered to her, and only her.
A blush formed on her cheeks as she looked towards him,
"As do you, mon amour," She whispered in return.
As the ceremony started, Jamie and Claire were standing as the front of the crowd, both with proud looks on their faces.
The ceremony was following procedure and was going great until the time came dor them to say I do.
"What is your name, sir?" The priest asked Fergus.
"Fergus," He replied.
"What is your last name?" He asked once again.
"I do not have one," Fergus said looking confused. He did not know that it would be a problem.
"I cannot marry you without a last name, I'm sorry sir," The priest replied.
"Fraser, his name is Fergus Claudel Fraser," Jamie said over the conversation.
As Jamie said this, the young couple both looked over at him with a thankful look on their faces. Finally knowing the full name of the groom, the priest continued, the couple said I do, and they sealed off the ceremony with a loving kiss.
The crowd cheered and the newlyweds went over to Jamie and Claire to hug them both.
"Congratulations!" Claire said to Maggie. "And the thing we were discussing earlier, I can show you when we are back on the ship," Claire said winking.
"Thank you, Claire," Maggie responded with a smile.
"Come, my wife, let us have some privacy," Fergus said with a cheeky smile on his face as he held his hand out for her to take.
As they dispersed from the crowd and followed some lanterns to a secluded cabin. Fergus opened the door for Maggie and they both walked inside.
