Jealous
“Kaninong kotse ’yang nasa labas kakapark lang?” July's voice echoed in my room as she look at me with malice. I roll my eyes to her and put my lip a lipstick.
“Kadate mo? May date ka?” sunod-sunod na tanong nito. “Kagabi pa lang natin pinag-uusapan ang right man for you, tapos ito na, may ka date kana? Agad-agad! Grabe talaga si Papa Jesus maawa sayo!” she hysterically added.
“Tsk! A friendly date, Jul,” I qouted and check myself once more.
“F*ckck! Titingnan ko nga kung mas gwapo sa kambal ko,” she chuckle.
I let her stalk me while I'm going down. I saw Sandi on a sofa, sitting confidently. Wearing a maroon long sleeves that folded up to his elbow and a faded jeans paired with brown boats. I can't deny the fact that he is handsome. Agad itong ngumiti nang makita akong pababa. Mahinang tumili si July sa likuran ko kaya napangiti ako.
“Ang gwapoooo pala!” mahinang saad nito tsaka ako bahagyang kinalabit. I look at her and sharpen my gaze.
“Good evening, ladies,” agad na bati ni Sandi nang tuluyan na kaming nakababa ni July.
“Good evening, Engineer,” July giggles, kaya bahagyang natawa si Sandiniel dito.
“Kanina ka pa?” I look around, making sure na wala si Race sa paligid.
“Hmm... Kadarating ko lang. Shall we go?” I nod at Sandi at nagpaalam na rin kay July.
Sa Bistro kami nagpunta. Engineer Sandiniel prepared everything before he pick me up in rest house, kaya pagdating namin dito ay se-nerve agad ang pagkain.
The night goes on and I enjoy Engineer Sandiniel's company. He's funny and had sense of humor that makes you always laugh. I never regret going out with him.
“I'll visit the site tommorow, maybe with Architect Merande. He's here to check on his men too,” sagot ko nang tanungin nito kung saan ako bukas.
“So this is not just a vacation huh, parte parin sa trabaho.” I smirk at Sandi.
“Uhuh... I don't have a plan on vacation tho, kasi sobrang hectic ng schedule ko. But this seems a blessing in disguise,” kibit-balikat ko. Sandi chuckles.
Alas nueve na nang maihatid ako ni Sandi sa rest house. The night is peaceful at palagay ko ay nagpapahinga na sina July.
“Thanks for the night, Engineer,” I smile as I step out from his car nang buksan nito ang pinto.
“Uhuh.... Maybe I can ask for next time?” I chuckle and nod at him.
“Sure, if we have the same schedule. And if you're not busy then,” I shrug.
“Okay, I'm looking forward to that. So... I gotta go... good night, Architect.”
I smile and wave at Sandi after saying my good night and take care to him. Pagka-alis ng sasakyan ay tsaka pa lang ako pumasok sa gate.
Nasa labas ng bahay si Race, mag-isang nakaupo sa may fountain. Seryosong nakatingin sa direksyon ko. I snorted as I saw his dark eyes, as dark as the starless night.
“Uh... Good evening,” I gulped and look away. I can't stand looking at his dark eyes, parang nang hihipnotismo.
“Four hours is too long for a dinner,” walang emosyong saad nito tsaka tumiim ang bagang. An irritation starts to grow in me.
“And now you're questioning me about the time I spent in my dinner? Is it a part of you being an architect and owner of the company who collaborates on ours?” naiirita ko nang saad.
Ni minsan hindi ako nakialam sa kanya. Because he don't even give me a chance to go near him. Tapos ngayon, may nasasabi na siya sa akin? Nice!
“Walang kinalaman ang kompanya at ang pagiging architect ko dito, Wren Luienne. I'm just saying that 4 hours of spending time with Engineer Rossdeutcher is too long. You can just spent one hour or two.”
“Anong kaso no’n sayo? Hindi ka naman inutusan na maghintay dito kung anong oras na akong uuwi. We're just having a dinner, anong masama don?!” I spat angrily. Sobrang naiirita na sa mga sinasabi ni Race. Hindi ba pweding pumasok muna ako diba, tsaka na siya ngumawa diyan.
“Ang masama d’on hindi ka nga sumasabay sa pagkain sa akin, tapos ngayon, ilang oras kang kumain kasama ang ibang lalaki?” medyo tumaas ang boses ni Race.
I can't believe this! I won't assume that he's jealous, okay. Race will never get jealous just because of me. That maybe sounds insulting but that's the truth. Hinding-hindi yan mahseselos kung ako ang pag-uusapan at tanggap ko na yan!
“There's nothing wrong with spending so much time for a dinner with Sandiniel, Architect and Attorney Merande. Because we are both single and ready to flock each other. And about the issue of not eating with you, well, you can eat on your own right? I didn't bring the food wherever I go.”
I saw how Race sculpted jaw clench because of what I said.
“You can eat without me, don't act as if you really want me to, because I know that's the least thing you ever wanted to happen.”
The bitterness in my voice is very visible. I can't hide it when I know he knew it even before.
“You even called that man in his name, while you call me by my profession and surname?” Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ni Race nang sabihin iyon.
“Huh! I can’t believe you! I can call who ever they are in their names!” Hindi makapaniwalang saad ko.
“I'm... jealous.”
