"Big…big brother?" I asked in disbelief. "No way!"

"Yes way honey…Bill is your uncle…your real uncle." My mom said as she turned away and began taking out the contacts in her eyes. Once they were out she turned to me and showed her natural blue eyes.

"Oh God." My aunt said as she stood up. "So you really are adopted?"

My mom nodded. "Yes, your mom found me right after I had my second baby…Carmen. I had just given birth to her and knew I needed to get us as far away from here as possible."

"But why?" Mark asked. "Why run away from your family?"

She glared at Mark, "I think you of all people should know why. The entire time I was here you and your boys did what you could to make my life a living hell….on top of that I had a brother whose obsession with me was beginning to take its toll on my mind."

I turned around and looked into Mark's eyes, "You really did bully her!"

"Carmen I didn't bully her except when she tried to ask me out…my friends are the ones who did all the bullying after that." He said as he looked over at Kevin.

"Don't you dare bring me into this!" Kevin said.

My mom chuckled, pulled a gun from her back pocket and pointed it directly at Kevin.
"Why not bring you into this? After all…you and that piece of shit sitting in that chair conspired to kill my daughter in order to hide your dirty secrets."

My eyes widened as my aunt and Herald shifted in their seats. "What secrets?"

She smiled and pointed the gun at Eric. "Tell her Eric. She already knows about one of your secrets, you might as well tell her the rest."

Eric spit blood from his mouth and then laughed, "Go to hell Holly. If anyone has some secrets in this room…it's you …and I think you should tell your children why we really ran you out of this town!"

My mom laughed and shook her head, "Such a pain in the ass."

With one swift motion, my mom smacked Eric with the gun, knocking him out cold. I folded my arms and stepped closer to my mom, unsure of the feelings that had formed in my chest. She looked over her shoulder at me with a wicked smile and then glared at Herald and my aunt. She then waved her hand at them and said, "Be gone….I don't need you two for this part."

I looked back at them and watched as they got up from the couch and walked out of the room like mindless slaves. I shivered as the realization of why my mom was hated so much began to fill my mind.

"Mom….are you a….a witch or something?" I asked in horror.

She sighed and raked her free hand through her hair, "I wish....those two are just scared of getting shot darling….and you and your brother are the only good thing that's happened to me and I refuse to let these bastards take you away from me."

Bobby stepped up next to me. "You keep saying…her brother…what brother?"

My mom smiled at him, "Oh don't act like you haven't felt it this entire time Bobby. I thought it would be obvious to you that Carmen was your sister."

His eyes widened and we looked at each other in shock. "We can't be brother and sister…Eric is my-"

"-Care taker…." My mom finished. "He took you in when I couldn't….my brother found out I was pregnant and nearly beat me to death…"

"You shouldn't have crossed me Holly!" Bill yelled. "I told you to stay away from the ways of the world but you couldn't do that could you?"

Mark placed his hand on my shoulder as my mother turned to Bill with a vicious glare. "I refused to let you keep me away from having a life of my own! I was doing fine until you invited these bastards over and let them do things to me that got me my son!"

Bobby and I gasped at the same time. "So…if Eric isn't my father then…."

"Yes, Kevin here is your proud papa." My mom said as she glared at Kevin and pointed the gun at his chest. "And he knew about you from day one."

Kevin chuckled, "How was I supposed to believe he was mine huh? You were so quick to give up your goods to everyone in town Holly."

My mother smirked and walked up to him. She pressed the gun into his chest and growled, "I wouldn't piss off someone who has a gun pointed at you…especially a witch like myself."

"Holly please…you made your point." Mark said. "Carmen and Bobby know the truth about you and their fathers so…let's just forget about all this."

My mom turned her head sharply towards Mark with eyes so full of fury that they turned beat red. "Don't you dare try to talk to me after what you did…"

I glanced at Mark, unsure if I was ready to hear what part he had in all of this. "What's she talking about Mark?"

He sighed and patted Aaliyah's back. "I don't know…"

"Oh you don't know!" she screamed. "You don't remember being my best friend in the entire world and as soon as you heard about these two raping me…you didn't want to have anything to do with me!"

My mouth fell open as Mark's face went blank.

"You don't remember me coming to your house for help and you slammed the door in my face? Or how about how you recently impregnated my daughter and did the exact same thing to her!"

Mark walked to the couch and laid my baby down before turning on my mother, "I wanted to help you! I wanted to be there for you Holly! But after I saw you told me what they did I panicked!"

"So you admit it…you couldn't handle the fact that yoir boys were pigs…and that's why you really befriended my daughter!"

"No…I befriended Carmen because I love her." He said as he glanced at me. "I've felt strong about this for a pretty long time and if you give me a chance I promise not to hurt her again."

My mom laughed, "As much as I would love to make that decision…I can't. It's Carmen's heart therefore it's her decision…as for you guys behind me…you've all hurt me for the very last time…"

"What are you going to do to us?" Kevin asked. "You can't change what happened in the past."

"No…but I can prevent what could happen if I let you three live." My mom said before laughing hysterically. "Damn…we can't have a proper family reunion to save our lives can we?"

I looked at Mark and then at my baby, "No we can't…can we go now?"

Kevin's eyes widened. "You mean you're really going to leave us here with this bitch!"

I glared at Kevin feeling a strange wrath growing, "Well…it's like she said…it's her heart…so she makes the decision on what happens to you."

Kevin and Bill tensed as I grabbed my daughter and walked towards the entrance of the living room.

"I'll drop by to speak to you tomorrow love." My mom said. "As for you Bobby….we'll talk as soon as I get rid of these punks!"

I didn't turn back as I heard Kevin scream before three gunshots rang out into the night. Silently Mark and I walked to his truck and got in. I let all the new information, mainly the part about my mom going through so much sink into my mind. It all felt like a dream. I didn't know how to take any of this…
