*Michael's Point of View*
"Call me gay as well, because that's what I am." I find myself so easily lying to him. His eyes lit up and he smiled broadly. Damn, I can't ask him out for another week. I think I am going to be sick. I can't handle acting so out of character, especially being nice to gay boy.
"Well I'm not. So if you have some sort of fantasy with me, I don't care. Get out." He told me, swallowing hard.
"You're gay, I know you are. I'm not stupid, Luke. I called you gay boy to mask my own... feelings." I force back a smile, I can't wait to see him crushed.
His eyes show no emotion whatsoever. I couldn't have been so bad to him that he denies my advances?
"Michael, I know you and your friends are trying to make a point. I am not feeding into your game." He tells me, and I want to laugh. Because this is a joke. Trying to embarrass him, as one, final trick we play on him. Right before we graduate.
I roll my eyes, I want that money. I need to play this through. I walk towards him, my stomach doing flips. I can't even be a couple feet away from him without feeling nauseous, how am I going to do this?
He backs up a few steps, but I reach out and gently touch his arm. The nausea in my stomach is no longer present as I see the hope gleaming in his eyes.
I rub my arm up and down and say, "You are gay. I know you are."
*Luke's Point of View*
"You are gay. I know you are." He tells me quietly. He slowly rubs my arm and I shiver at the contact. I want to respond more openly to his touch, but instead I grab his wrist and move it away from me.
I feel a lump in my throat. I am lost for words. I am dreaming. This is a dream. The most popular guy in school is not gay, and even if he was he would never like someone like me.
"Respond please." He tells me, his eyes were still emotionless. I can't believe him when there is absolutely nothing. No sign that he is pouring his heart to me, admitting that he is gay.
"It doesn't matter, now does it? Because no matter what I say, you won't believe me. Leave Michael." I order strictly.
He just nods, and looks at me once more. He is forcing a frown, the corner of his lips twitching upwards. He opens the door and departs into the hallway.
I go back to my room and sit down on my bed. Why didn't you jump on the opportunity? I ask myself.
He doesn't like me. I don't think Michael is capable of being honest towards me. Because in his eyes, I mean nothing. My words mean nothing. My actions mean nothing. I am nothing.
