Chapter One

          The whole hospital is a mess - as usual. Athena looked around her. There's a lot of people, but it's still silent. Though you can hear the murmuring of other people who are also busy. And a lot of nurses are running from one place to another.

She looked at her friend, who was wearing a disposable face mask while coughing. Hinawakan naman niya ang noo nito at napaka-init niya pa talaga.

"Yara ano ba kasing nangyari sayo?" Nag-alalang tanong niya sa kaibigan.

Her friend looked at her and smiled weakly.

"Na ulanan lang ako," her friend answered.

Walang nagawa si Athena kundi ang tumango na lang and wait for their turn na asikasuhin sila ng doctor.

It's already their turn. She let her friend sat beside her. The nurse placed a form that she needs to fill in before meeting the doctor.

Dahil maraming tao sa hospital na parating nangyayari and medyo kulang ng doctor dahil December na. Napatingin naman si Athena sa pangalan ng doctor na titingin kay Yara.

Her lips pursued upon reading the name. Is she a girl? Well mas maganda naman yun para hindi nakaka-ilang.

The assistant guided them to go inside. While she assist her friend na mataas ang lagnat. Nag-tataka pa din si Athena bakit Surgeon ang titingin sa kanila. But she shaked her head and went inside.

"Good morning, Doc," she acknowledged the doctor.

They both sat down. She swallowed hard when she saw that the doctor was a boy and not a girl. The doctor looked so shocked upon seeing her.

Kaya naman napangiti ng kaunti si Athena and held Yara's hand. Kinakabahan siya for some unknown reasons. Masyadong malakas ang kabog ng dibdib niya.

Doctor Cole cleared his throat. And get his paper.

"Sinong may sakit?" His deep voice echoed around the room.

What the hell is happening to me?! Bakit ba ganito ang pakiramdam ko?! Damn heart this is clearly the first time meeting him!

"It's my friend Doc. She's been sick for three days, so we decided to go to the hospital already," she bit her lips.

She can't stop herself from talking in english anymore. Nakasanayan niya na ito. And when talking, her Irish-accent always showed up.

Damn I should really try hard next time. Lumalabas ang Irish-accent ko which is weird kasi ka name ng Doctor ni Yara.

And again, the doctor looked so shocked upon bearing her talk. Is it weird if I talk to english while he asks a question in tagalog?

Tumahimik nalang si Athena ulit. Pinasadahan niya ng tingin ang lalaki na ngayon ay tinitignan ang record ng kanyang kaibigan. Naka-patong na ang ulo nito ngayon sa kanyang balikat. Habang tumutulo ang kanyang luha.

Maybe because of the heat of her body. Kaya siya napapaluha. Maiinit na maiinit na din kasi si Yara. The doctor now looks more professional than kanina. He instructed what to do at nag bigay din siya ng resita para sa kaibigan niya.

"If hindi pa rin baba ang lagnat ng kaibigan mo. Balik kayo dito para i-admit siya para mas ma monitor siya rito." ani ng Doctor. She then nodded as a response.
