SJ was running in the morning 15 mile tab and was beating all the boys as usual "Gowan SJ!" Shouted Georgie, Captain hurst nudged her "she'd be good in the army you know." Georgie nodded at his comment "yes she would but I want something more for her not just what her mam, dad and both uncles have done." She replied Captain Hurst looked puzzled "both uncles?" Georgie smiled "ah yes, Captain James it one uncle and Fingers Is another." Captain Hurst nodded, he'd taken over Captain James's Platoon whilst he was on a different tour.
All the army lined up "Right you lot you need to switch on sharpish, everyone dismissed bar Miss Harte!" Kingy commanded.
Georgie came over to SJ "you alright Darling?" SJ sighed "I'm fine mum" she replied, Georgie scruffier her hair a little "go supervise the boys then. SJ saluted and walked away, she was an army Kid through & through. Mimi caught her arm "hey I don't believe we've met I'm Mimi, you seem real close with Georgie mind if I ask how?" SJ smiled "I'm her daughter, I'm SJ" Mimi looked shocked "I'm so sorry I didn't realise about El.." she hurriedly spoke but SJ cut her off "it's okay, I'm okay, anyway we have to go supervise the boys as they can't be trusted." SJ smiled and Mimi chuckled.
SJ knocked on the tent "Oi Cockwombles are you decent?" She got sniggers as her reply so just waltzed in "you alright Fingers?Monk?Prof?Throbber?" She asked they all nodded and fingers put his arm round SJ "Oi fingers your sweating mate!" Fingers laughed "that's uncle fingers to you!" He laughed more and SJ looked shocked "no!You didn't....omg....you did!" She squealed and hugged him "when did you ask her?" She continued "the day before we left" he responded "we are getting married on next month's R&at and well....could you be a bridesmaid?" He asked SJ smiled and nodded "oh yeah boys you all need a shower because you STINK!" They all geered "and because I beat you all your all on latrine cleaning duty." She laughed
fingers grabbed her head and pushed it into his arm pit "smell pit" he chuckled. SJ pushed him away "Oi fingers!" She laughed
"That's uncle fingers" he retorted touching her chin and the swanning away.
The boys were all showering ,when SJ found a bucket of ice water "Oi uncle fingers!" She laughed flaunting it at him "SJ babe don't you dare!" She edged closer "SAPPHIRE JADE!" She came closer and threw it on him "bloody hell thats cold!" He said and chased after her in his Union Jack swimmers.
Until he caught up with her and gave her a massive wet hug. "So SJ Babe are you okay?" Fingers asked "Will I ever be okay?" She answered " yes SJ you will!" He countered "fingers can I tell you something?" She asked "anything kiddo" he answered
"This right hear right now is the closest I felt to my dad since he died and I'm not losing that feeling not yet"
