Annabeth made a face at her group of friends, making sure they knew she hated this. But she didn't exactly do it stealthily either, as Percy saw it.
She slid into the desk next to Percy and immediately took her phone out and hid it behind her book, trying to make it look like she was reading. But, Percy was determined to finish the lesson, with or without Annabeth. He slowly made his way through the page, the letters floating around, making it hard to focus.
Percy would see Annabeth look at him out of the corner of his eye every once in a while. He didn't care, he didn't need a ditsy blonde who knew more about hair products than basic english.
Percy finished the first chapter right when the class ended, and Annabeth left as quickly as possible. "Good riddance" Percy muttered to himself.
"Percy, come here," Paul said, once everyone else left the room. Percy walked up Paul, expecting a stern talk. "You're better than this Percy. Why were you late?"
Percy thought back to 2nd period, gym. And how he was given permission to practice his swimming in the pool. "I, uh, lost track of time." Percy said as he re-positioned his bag on his shoulder.
"Percy, that's the 15th time this semester. According to school policy I have to assign you to a tutor to make sure you stay up to date on work" Paul said dismayed. "Even though I know you keep up, I just have to"
Percy stood there silently, thinking about how it could get any worse"Now, get to your next class" Paul said as he gestured towards the door.
Percy left the room and slowly made his way to his next class. They seemed to just blurr by, and before he knew it. The last bell rang and he was free. Percy took out his phone and texted Paul.
Percy: Hey, i'm gonna walk homePaul: That's fine, just make sure you get home by 5
Percy: yeahPercy put his phone in his hoodie pocket and walked down the steps of his school and onto the sidewalk. He put his earbuds in and drowned out the world in the music.
