I sit there, waiting for an explanation. But he pauses, while looking at me. The pause is too long that it becomes unbearably awkward and annoying at the same time. I feel like screaming at everyone here.

“I thought twice about it, and I changed my mind,” he sighs.

“What?” I flinch.

“Should I remind you that you’re a hostage?”

“At least tell me why I am a hostage.”

“Because you’re next, and you’re special,” he folds his arms. I sigh, holding the urge to ask about everything. He then pushes the food to me once again, reminding me to eat. I thank him and eat it as fast as a lightning bolt. “You’re not even trying to eat normally, are you?”

I ignore the question and simply carry on. “So who will tell me everything?”

“The leader of—” just before he can finish his sentence, someone slam the main door of the building harshly with full power until we can hear it from up here. “Ruby Blade,” he finishes while half introducing who just barges in.

She flies up in a darting speed flawlessly. Gemini step forward to open the birdcage for her to come. She muffles up her wings and classily walks in. Then she bore her eyes into mine, locking our gaze. She has bright green eyes that looks like it almost glow. Her long dirty blonde hair is nearly flawless despite her lack of attention to tend it. It’s very emphasizing, I must say. I look down from her haunting gaze and find out that she’s wearing a man suit and a tie. Why man suit? I ask myself.

“Essie, Essie, Essie,” she chants. She then drifts her gaze to Gemini. I take the time to breathe from holding my breath since the first time she saw me. She looks like she’s a bag of brute.

“This girl doesn’t like me,” he shrugs. “She even thinks that I’m a robber.”

“I don’t care about that,” she simply says. Gemini rolls his eyes. She fixes her tie and walk towards me. “Hello.”

Then a wild punch swings right after the greet. A pang of pain stings right into my cheeks. Gemini looks alarm and as surprise as I am, but he stays at his position. I look back at Ruby. She grins and a kick follows, sending more pain to my head. I stumble backwards and hold the bars to gain my balance back.

“Ruby! Stop! What are you doing?” Gemini yells.

“Gemini!” I yelp, barely finishing the word before another punch.

I don’t get this! Why is she even punching me for no reason? She keeps punching me until I can feel blood dripping off my mouth.

“Fight me!” She exclaims.

Before Gemini stops Ruby, I finally conclude that punching her back is the only way out. My chest heaves in rage and a punch finally realeses from my fist. She stumbles back. I somehow feel a small victory inside me. My clenching fists feel as hot as fire.

“I knew it,” Gemini sigh, lifting Ruby up.

“What?” I breathe.

“Look!” he grips Ruby’s chin and show me the side where I punch her. It has a black wound on it, like a burn. “You have powers.”

I literally drop my jaws as I try to process everything.

“Remember that fairy tale?” he says; reminding me the images that flash uncontrollably into my mind. It’s surely not a good memory. “She’s your real mother, ‘Elle the Great Witch’.” Ruby follows with an approving nod. I drop my jaws.

“So I have fire powers?” I ask as I try to keep my calm tone.

“No. I saw everything,” Ruby butts in.

“What is it?”

“I don’t know. It’s really strange because both of your parents don’t have this power.”

“Just tell us already!” Gemini groans. I look at him and scoff a little. My face is full of wounds and blood; she really should finish the sentence quickly.

“It’s laser,” she spits.

A/N: So I was about to update yesterday, but I end up being sick yesterday :T Anyway, I feel better today and decided to update. If you read Fire before, yes, you'll remember Elle having fire powers and all. But it's different now~
