Dumbstruck, I let him kiss me. I don’t even have the idea to push him away anymore. My mind flows everywhere. There’s some point that I don’t even know what I am doing right now. For what feels like forever, he pulls away. When I check at the clock it’s less than a minute.

“Gemini,” I push him gently. “You don’t know what you’re even doing, but I do. I know,” I reply quite sadly.

He doesn’t reply anything. It hurts me. But at the other side, I am quite glad that he won’t remember anything tomorrow.  My eyes tear up; it reminds me of my high school. Guys only like me and actually want me only when they’re drunk. They use me. I lead him to my bedroom while silently sobbing.

            “Essie,” he mutters.

“Go to sleep,” I whisper. He twirls on the bed and find a comfortable side.

“Are you crying?” he asks faintly.

“No,” I wipe my tears away to be shown. “You’re drunk.” That’s my only defense for now. Well he is drunk, right?

“Okay,” he smiles goofily. I chuckle for a moment and turn the lights off. I can see his face even from the darkness. His hair is beautifully messy, his coal black eyes flutters and his shirt is slightly unbutton. He’s doesn’t even try to be beautiful, yet he looks like an angel.

“This bed is better than yours, sleeps well,” I smile. But when I focus on his face again, he’s already sound asleep. I chuckles and quietly leave the room.

I grab an extra pillow from the closet. I drag it out while still thinking about the kiss. I am stupid. I then throw myself on the couch near the counter of the kitchen. An airy chuckle escapes through my mouth. I feel stupid, cheery and dumbstruck at the same time. But all I can think of now is Gemini alone.

The door blows a faint knock from the outside. I flinch.

“Coming!” I shout.

I bet it’s the pizza guy. I remember Alex ordering pizza before being drunk. I internally evil-laugh, now that he’s drunk, I can eat it all for my own. Greedy Essie strikes again!

“Pizza!” I scream while opening the door.

“Hello Essie.”

My step-mother’s face greets me from the other side of the door—Aunt Judith.
