“I’m not letting her to fight,” Gemini shakes his head disapprovingly.

“Actually, I don’t mind fighting at all,” I silence everyone in the room but Alex who’s clapping.

“That’s the spirit honey!” Alex cheers. But everyone is just looking at him with a poker face. Alex claps slow down. “Uh... no clapping?”

I chuckle and everyone just stare at both of us; chuckling like an idiot. Joseph and Josh enter the room soundlessly, observing all of us and sit down. I think I’m starting to like these people here, not to mention that I have powers. I’ve been reading books about these types of things for so long. And Boomshakalaka, it happens.

“Anyways, I haven’t finished talking. By what I said ‘the good news: Laser Girl’s awake’, doesn’t mean I want her to fight. Essie’s awake now and she can take all of you to run away. I will stay here to fight.”

            “No!” I cry out.

“Yes,” Ruby nods. “I’m not like you Laser Girl. I know exactly how to fight.”

The door suddenly blaze off of the hinges. It sends a cloud of dust and debris. I slump to my back uncontrollably as I regain my balance back to my feet.

“Run!” Joseph orders.

We escape from Gemini’s room through the window and left Ruby behind. I look back and see a glimpse of her fighting. She let out a gun and a knife from its holster. Then she whips her opponent’s foot; sending him to fall off as she blow off his head. Bloods explodes and splatter. I look away from it.

“Where are we going?” Joseph says while running.

“I don’t know!” I shout back, but not in anger.

“We have nowhere to go,” Josh panics.

            Think Essie think!

“Never mind, I know somewhere to go.”

“Welcome to my apartment!” I announce with a proud smile.

Gemini seems to enjoy the whole environment. Now this is what we call home. That Cabin must be really big and fancy, but this not-so-big-space that can fit a bathroom, two beds a kitchen and a dining room with a TV is what feels like home to us. I do think we have the best creativity since we can turn this whole tiny space into something cozy and well-decorated.

“Now what?” Josh pops out the question. Gemini and Joseph approves with chuckles.

“This is our apartment, so our rules,” Alex orders with a smirk. “Don’t bring up your Black Warrior thingy.”

“Thingy?” Gemini laughs. It’s the first time that he actually laughs; it’s cute to be honest.

“Yes,” the pretty boy—Alex—says from a distance. I can see him withdraw something from the refrigerator; I squint to zooms the object. “It’s time to party!” he shrieks with a childlike joy. Now that he’s closer, I can clearly see that he’s carrying a bottle of red wine.

“Um, I’ll pass,” I crumple my face. Alex is a fan of it since he got dumped by his old boyfriend. Meanwhile, I can’t ever drink that much of wine. Three glasses are the maximum for me.

“Hey, you’ll miss the fun,” Gemini nudges. “This will be a rare moment when you become a Black Warrior.”

            “Fine,” I roll my eyes.

Alex pours a glass of red wine for me. I take a sip and finish it. But that’s it; I don’t dare to drink another glass while Alex, Joseph, Josh and Gemini are having fun drinking. I scoot away from them so Alex won’t ask me to drink another glass of wine. I take a glimpse from the corner of my sightline and find Alex and Joseph already drunk. They go into Alex’s room. I’m... not sure why. Then there’s Josh who stuck in front of the refrigerator to fetch some more food.

“Hi,” a drunken voice suddenly brushes through my neck. I shiver and recoil. Turns out, it’s Gemini.

“Gemini, you’re drunk...,” I announce the obvious fact.

“No,” he chuckles. “I’m nooot druuunk,” he wobbles and falls to the carpet floor.

“Yes. Yes you are.” I drag him to the toilet as he slumps down and puke. I cringe away from it, it smells really bad. “Gemini, you have to sleep,” I say with my voice even. I suddenly feel like his nanny or something.

“No I don’t want to sleep,” Gemini pouts. “You know what Essie? You are very pretty.” He smirks. Oh no. This is going to be bad. He is clearly drunk, but I look away from him and slightly blush. No one ever said that to me besides Alex. I really hope that he doesn’t see me blush. It’s so stupid that it becomes embarrassing.

“Gemini, you’re drunk,” I repeat again; not knowing what to say.

“Well I hope you’re drunk too,” he smiles. Our face is really close, so close.

            “I—“

He leans closer until we can feel each other’s warm breath. I can smell the red wine scent coming out of his sigh. I’m about to push him away, but the next thing I know...

            He kisses me.

A/N: well... too bad he's drunk...
