Nairobi is assigned for cooking our lunch today and as a good friend of hers, I decided to help her, since there's also nothing better to do. And partly because I was avoiding any free time that could give Berlin a chance to talk to me.
After our argument yesterday, I stormed out of his room to avoid escalating the situation even more and to avoid for us to say words that we don't mean. The man has been trying to talk to me since last night, but knowing myself I'd probably forgive him or agree with his words if he would be using his talent on pursuing me again. I'm avoiding that because even though I don't admit it these people have grown on me and even this group is made of criminals and mischiefs, behind their bad records are amusing and loving characters.
It amazed me how interesting people's stories get once you get to know them even more. Like how passionate Nairobi is for her son, she might have screwed up at some point, but after losing her son, all she'd ever do and think is how to pay back the lost time she had with him. And when we talk about love, Tokyo would be a good subject. She lost his lover before all this and her loss made her somehow lose a bit of enthusiasm in life. But as her friend, I hope the smart boy would help her find that enthusiasm again though.
That boy, Rio, is wrapped around her fingers. He might be smart when it comes to technology but he threw all his common sense out the window just to be with Tokyo. He knows he'll get hurt and she made that clear yet he took the risk.
The Serbian Brothers, the bond between these two is exquisite, just like Denver and Moscow's too. These pairs have been through their ups and downs yet they stick together.
I already got attached to these people, it's already late for me to just leave. That's why I just can't express what I truly want to Berlin yesterday. He wants me to leave the group because he's scared or let me be a hostage during the heist just so I could watch the events unfold after five months of planning it and let them do everything and me just sitting in the corner.
A nudge on my right snapped me out of my trance. Nairobi was holding a spoon in front of me wanting me to taste the sauce she made. I tasted it and gave her a thumbs up.
She smiled at me before speaking, "Thanks, anyway, do you have plans tonight?"
I looked at her, curious about why'd she ask, "No. Why?" I answered.
"Rio told us about this Street party tonight. And of course, Tokyo's already going and I don't want to be the third wheel for those love birds. Care to not make me suffer seeing them eating each other's faces?" Nairobi said, lowering her voice.
A party. It's been a while since I've been in one. One party wouldn't hurt, right? Besides, it'll relieve some stress for us.
"Sure," I said, nodding at her.
"Yes! Anyways, wear something interesting, okay? We girls gonna be all out." She cheerily said.
We both returned to what we're doing. And Denver entered the room.
"Hey, chefs." He greeted before fetching some water.
Nairobi and I looked at each other, thinking about the same thing. Denver wasn't invited yet, and he's around our age so I guess it's a good reason to let him come with us too. We both nodded and she wiggled her eyebrows at me, saying I should tell him.
"What's going on?" Denver asked, curious about our silent conversation.
I turned to him and wiped my hands on my apron. "Denver do you have plans tonight?" I asked him, the same way Nairobi did to me.
"Uhm, besides helping papa change his bedsheets. No, I don't." He answered.
"Well, there's this street party Rio told us, and we're gonna go, do you wanna join us?" I asked.
