When the moon is up.

Frankly, that's quite a vague description of when to meet, so I ended up sitting in front of the dormitory as soon as twilight fell over Seoul. The moon was nowhere to be seen when I took a seat on a half-rotten wooden bench but who knew, maybe it was already visible from where Minho lived?

That proved itself to be not the case, because I've been sitting here for quite some time now, and Minho is still nowhere to be seen. This is the downside of setting up such a mysterious meeting time. Meet me when the moon is up might sound really romantic but God knows how long I'll have to sit here, waiting for the boy to show up.

The night sky is darkening rapidly, now resembling the mysterious blue of a sapphire, gradually growing lighter towards the horizon where the sun has sunken into. Several clusters of stars litter here and there, some of them hidden by pale clouds that reflected the light of the now upcoming moon. It's by far not as spectacular as the vast galaxy that embellishes the midnight decor of Parallel, but there's a beauty in its familiar simplicity still.

Though it's a bit more chilly outside tonight, waiting outside is still rather enjoyable and I don't really mind that Minho is nowhere to be seen yet. It's quiet outside, but what else do you expect at eleven pm? Apart from the occasional group of students that enter or exit the dorms, not many people are out. Some students I'm familiar with wave at me as they pass by but most of them don't even notice me sitting here, on a long-forgotten wooden bench in front of the dormitories, neatly hidden away in the darkness of the night.

I'll probably have to leave this spot in order for Minho to find me. Wearing dark clothes isn't really beneficial for being spotted in your surroundings with midnight near.

I really wonder why he wanted to meet me at this hour. Everything is closed down already, apart from a few bars and nightclubs maybe, but I'm hoping that he isn't planning on taking me there. Actually, what makes even less sense than the meeting time, is the meeting spot. Why here, outside and in front of the school's dormitory? Why not somewhere we can cuddle up and watch a movie, which seems like the most logical thing to do now. Thinking about this only makes me more curious to the older's plans.

An exceptionally cold breeze makes me snuggle up in my hoodie more, my chin digging in the collar and hands disappearing in the front pocket. Again, it isn't necessarily cold, but sitting here and doing nothing at all for a long time makes it feel like it is.

Minutes later, a figure clad in black appears in the light of one of the street lanterns. His face is hidden in the shadows of his hood, but I still recognize him as Minho immediately. My heart jumps in my chest as I get up from the bench and as soon as the sound of my footsteps reaches the boy's ears, he turns around.

The smile that stretches his lips upon seeing me makes my heart jolt yet another time, and I mentally curse my heart for behaving like an idiot in Minho's presence. You'd think I should be used to it by now, right? Well, jokes on me, it still goes crazy every time I see him.

"Hey, Sung," Minho greets me as soon as I join him under the streetlight. "Did I make you wait for a long time?"

"A little," I truthfully reply, smiling reassuringly as guilt washes over the other's features. "Don't worry, it's nice to be outside right now so I really didn't mind."

Minho smiles in relief, holding out his hand for me to take. "Now that we have established that you're not mad at me, let's not waste even more time."

A faint blush dusts my cheeks as I gently take his hand, hopefully hidden by the darkness of midnight. We never really held hands, apart from a few occasions here and there, and the effect the small gesture has only reminds me how whipped I am for this guy.
