Fifteen minutes later, we're almost at the campus. More and more students fill the streets, all headed in the same direction. It feels a bit weird to show up here without my backpack that contains my school supplies, but that's honestly the least of my concerns.
I'm kind of scared to face my best friends, after basically disappearing for a whole night without explaining anything, only to show up with the guy I'm supposed to hate –according to them– the next morning. Maybe, just maybe, informing them beforehand would've been a better idea, but it's a flaw in the human mind to only think of that when it's already too late
While Chan and Changbin –who are walking ahead of us a little– are talking animatedly, a silence drags on between me and Minho. I guess I'm too busy overthinking stuff to come up with something to say, and the fact that I'm nervously fidgeting my fingers doesn't help the suspicious flances Minho keeps giving me.
"You're nervous," he points out after casting another glance in my direction. "Why?"
"Well, I may or may not have forgotten to tell Seungmin about anything at all when I left the dorm, which was kind of deliberate, actually," I sheepishly admit, smiling awkwardly. "I guess they're all going to be very surprised to see us showing up together, and those idiots can do pretty crazy stuff when they're confused."
The raven-haired looks at me quizically, and I nonchalantly shrug my shoulders.
"Seungmin will murder me, Felix will murder you. That's it. That's my prediction."
"Oh, that's pretty easy to solve, I'll protect you from Seungmin," Minho replies, before raising his voice. "Bin, keep your boyfriend in check, okay?"
The shortest abruptly comes to a halt, turning around to face the older. "He's not–"
"See? All settled." Minho smiles brightly, not giving Changbin the chance to complete his sentence. As he walks past the boy, he places a hand on his shoulder, getting him to walk again.
"There isn't even time for murder," Chan chimes in. "Classes start in seven so you're both safe until lunch."
"That's just procrastinating our doom," I mutter, still not concinved about our safety.
We walk through the main gate, approaching the main building. Much to my horror, I can already see a familiar mop of orange hair in front of the entrance, and I sigh in defeat. Of course they would be waiting for me there.
"They are there," I dryly point out, and Minho chuckles.
"Sung, relax. They're your best friends, not a pair of demons. I'm sure we'll both get out alive and well."
"I wouldn't be too sure," I mumble.
Okay, I'm actually not afraid of getting murdered by them. I'm just too ashamed to face them without feeling like an idiot. I mean, not telling them anything was a pretty stupid decision, and I lost count of how many times they already had to put up with my stupid desicions ever since they met me.
We slowly approach my two best friends, and it isn't long before they see me. Felix's eyes widen, and Seungmin frowns in confusion.
"Jisung, what is this?" he asks, glancing between me and Minho, hardly even acknowledging the presence of Chan and Changbin behind us.
"Hey, get away from my man," Felix chides, narrowing his eyes at Minho suspiciously.
"Jisung isn't your man, you have your own," the raven-haired grumbles, pushing Changbin in Felix's direction.
"Care to explain?" Seungmin inquires, ignoring the loud protests of Felix and Changbin.
"I call a gatherin during lunch, then we'll explain everything," I promise them. There isn't enough time for that now, and this is a thing I really don't want to rush and I'm sure Minho thinks the same.
