"Well? What's you're relation with my daughter?"

"We're just friends, sir." I cleared my throat.

"Why was she out? Do you realized how much you placed her in danger tonight?" He began raising his voice.

"No, sir." I mumbled.

"What do you have?" He bluntly asked.

"Osteosarcoma, sir."

"Why do you keep calling me 'sir?' Do I look like an officer?"

I was afraid to answer knowing the way he was answering with anger. Evangeline was going to freak if she found out about this. I don't think she wanted me to meet her dad without her there. It would've saved me the whole interrogation from him.

"No sir- I mean Mr. Iverson. It's just, you seem like you're an important person in the UK. I can't help but think you're royalty." I said softly.

"Are you mad? Not nearly as close as being a royal!" He fixed the scarf around his neck.

"Cool." I smiled.

He gave me a straight face and I realized I might've said something stupid at the wrong time. I was nervous. I was really hoping Evie would wake up and pull him away.

I was really tired. My legs were about to give out but Mr. Iverson kept the conversation going. My eyes were dropping.

"Listen Mr. Iverson, you are probably angry with me about Evie-"

"Evie?" He interrupted.

"Evangeline." I said softly.

"Why on earth would you change her name? Her name is beautiful!"

"I understand you're angry but I need my sleep. I have an appointment with Doctor Raja tomorrow morning. Maybe after we can grab coffee or something? You know? When Evangeline's awake?" I ushered him.

"Sounds good. But if you sneak my daughter out of here again without my permission or knowledge, I will have you reported faster than you can get out of bed in the morning-"

"That's already a struggle-" I mumbled under my breath.

"You better be careful. I will have my oldest sons here soon!"

"You don't have sons."

"Excuse me?"

"Evangeline told me you have two younger daughters with your new wife."

"They're Evangeline's sisters. Not just my daughters."

I smiled and walked into my room. I didn't even bother taking the glitter off my face or the clothes I was wearing. I just fell asleep. I had too much on my plate. Evangeline's dad, appointments and this bucket list.
