It's been two weeks, I've been stressed with packing. I've had to stay back at home for the past week just to pack everything I really needed. Evangeline's father was going to meet us at the resort the genies booked.
"Beckett would you hurry? Evangeline's at the airport waiting for us!"
"Coming!"
"Wow for once you aren't wearing a black shirt with gray sweatpants."
"Mom." I said. I looked at my shorts and questioned if I should go change really fast.
"Taxi's here! Let's go!"
We put our two suitcases in the trunk of the taxi. The ride over to the airport took about fifteen minutes. We got our suitcases from the trunk and met up with Evangeline. She saw us from afar and ran towards us. She was wearing a variety stripes of blues bucket hat with a yellow Hawaiian shirt with blue and magenta flowers, Mom shorts and black vans. She also wore a medium length brown waved wig. She looked cute.
"New hat?" I chuckled.
"Beckett Hill, are you laughing at my hat?" She smiled.
"Maybe."
"Nothing's funnier than those shorts." She pointed and walked away.
"Theirs nothing wrong with them!" I shouted and followed.
We boarded the plane and all seated next to each other. Evangeline sat next to the window, I sat in the middle and my mom sat at the end. I was nervous. I had never been on a plane. My mom had been on one when she took Grayson to New York City for some decathlon thing in high school. But I stayed home. It's not like I was afraid of heights or anything. Being high off the ground wasn't my thing. Wait, yeah basically afraid of heights. Never mind.
"Alright so I bought this magazine so we can look like teenagers who aren't addicted to their phones." Said Evangeline shoeing me some Seventeen magazine.
"Why didn't you just bring a regular book?" I asked.
"I did. It's in my bag though."
"What's it called?"
"Tell Me Three Things." She said.
I got up and reached for her bag. I pulled out a white book with three bitten waffles on the front. I sat back in my seat but I was stepping all over my mom.
"Beckett, stop moving!" She grunted.
"Sorry I retrieving Evies book!"
"Thank you. I should finish within an hour."
"An hour? There's gotta be at least three hundred pages in there."
"Beckett, it's like you do not pay attention to me whatsoever. I told you my father has a small library and dedicated half of his life to literature."
"No you didn't! When?" I questioned. I remember everything Evangeline tells me. Mostly because it's important to her and she might bring it up.
"It doesn't matter just know I mentioned it-"
"HA! That's cause you didn't!"
"Anyway! Because we had a small library, I read everyday up until I moved to the states. I'm a quick learner and fast reader. Hence, I will finish in an hour."
"What about me?"
"The magazine is right there!"
I figured why not just read it. Evangeline was going to be done in an hour. So she says.
"Evangeline it's been a while. When are you going to finish?"
"Beckett, it's been three minutes and I'm already on page sixteen. Shut up!"
