"Zach..? Zach what's wrong?" I sat down next to him and wrapped the jacket around him. He looked up at me. His eyes slightly red. "Zach?" I rubbed his shoulder. "Joe, Johny walked by. He..He knows where my home is..." He looked back at his lap. "He's going to hurt me again, isn't he?" His voice was small and weak. Almost like he was giving up..? I stood.

"Hell no." 

He looked up at me with questioning eyes. "I'm not letting anyone put a hand on you." I held out my hand. I helped him stand. "You just have to stay with me." He smiled. "That's right. Smile for me." He giggled and smiled widder. "Now, shall we go on our date to forget this?" He looked around. "Well... Yeah. Okay."  He pulled his jacket on and I grabbed for his hands. I held them both in mine. They swayed at our sides. "Zach, I wont let him hurt you. He will have to get through me first, to ever hand a finger on you." 

"But what if you arn't around?" "I'll always be around. But I guess...when i'm not, don't go off alone." "Alone? Who else would be there for me?" "What do you mean?" "When i'm in school, no one else is around." "There's so many kids at our school!" "None would help me." "Maybe not, but he wont go and attack during hours. Just leave the building as soon as school's out and find me." He looked at our hands, all intertwinded. "Okay."

I sighed and hugged Zach. "Okay. We better go." He said, putting up more excitment. Being himself, again. Trying to, anyway.

After the movie, Joe took me to lunch. We had pizza at some cool Italian place. Then we went to a park. It was a nice day, besides the breeze that made it chilly. We kinda just relaxed for a long time, swinging on the swings and going down the tube-slides that where closed over the top. We slid down together, Joe behind me with his arms around me; I was between his legs. 

There had been many kids when we first arrived, but they all slowly left and we had become alone. Besides the every-so-often elderly cupple walking by with some new breed of dog. Or a jogging lady or man. The wind had died down but becouse of the sun getting ready to set, it was still chilly. 

Joe and I sat next to each other on top of the monkey bars. I slightly kicked my feet back and forth to keep balance. My hands gripped the bar under me. "Zach, are your hands cold? Do you want to get down?" "Hmm?" I looked over at him. "They are cold, but I like it up here." I looked away from him and at the sun and clowds. "I used to come here when I was little." I said. Feeling a happy sensation come over me. Then I felt Joe's hand go over and hold mine. "I did too." I looked at him, surprised. "Really? I came out late, so I guess that's why I never-" "How late?" He asked. "Well, About half an hour until the sunset and I would wait until my mom would come get me just after it set." "Wow. So did I." "No way!" I laughed. Causing me to wobble. "Wo-Oh!" I slid back and felt my self as I was falling through the bars. "Ah!"

I reached out and grabbed Zach's jacket collor. Giving him enough time to grab the bars around him and straighten his posture, getting back to sitting right. "Idiot." I mumbled. "Don't scare me like that. You really could have fallen!" He blushed. "Sorry, it scared me too." "It's fine. Would have hurt you more then me anyway." He giggled. "I guess so." 

we sat where we were for another long time. The sun had set and it was getting dark fast. "Come on, lets get going." I climbed down and Zach leaped into my arms. He wouldn't let me let me down. He wrapped his legs around my waist. "I wove you Joe." "Did you just say, wove?" He giggled. "I did and I do." He pecked my lips lightly and I held him up with my arms under him. "Now come on Zach. I love you. So kiss me." He nodded. "Yes, sir!" He pressed his lips to mine and alowed me inside. We messed around with each other tongues until my arms got to tired to hold his weight anymore.
