I pulled open my front door and instantly my mother jumped at me like a waiting dog. "Joe!" She yelled, and wrapped me up in her arms so tight I thought I would die. "You scared me half to shit!" She released me and planted a sloppy-dog style kiss on my forehead. "Mom!" "I'm sorry. Why didn't you go to school?" She looked at me worried. "Zach was sick. So I stayed to help him while his mom was gone." "You should have called!" "I'm sorry."

My mom didn't know about me being with Zach. And I wasn't going to tell her. Not yet, anyway. Not after I just told her I was with him alone for almost five hours.

"Is Zach okay?" "Yes. He's with his mom now." "That's good." She pulled out a loaf of bread and set it on the table. I took a seat accross from hers. "Should I go to school?" I asked, looking at the clock. "No. It would be to late. May as well stay here. You can help me clean." "Ugh." I sighed. "Don't Ugh me." She handed me a sandwich and a glass of soda. "Thanks." She sat down with her own lunch. I held on to my glass with both hands and just looked into it. "Joe? What's wrong?" I shook me head. "I want to tell you mom, I really do. But then you would take it to drastic measures and not listen to me." "What do you mean? Joe. Talk to me." "No." I pushed away from the table and stood. "I'll be in my room." I started walking down the hall. "Is it about that boy?" I kept walking.

"Or about Leah?"

I let my mom cool off before I told her me and Joe did do what she thinks we did. We sat in the bathroom. I was on the sink and she was rumedging through a first-aid kit. "Joe was a good nurse. But he didn't pour any disenfectant in it." I flintched as the pain shot up my arm from the cuts on my mid-arm. "Does it hurt?" A tear slid down my cheek from my closed eye. The other was open. Through clentched teeth I said; "Y-Yes..." "Well. Don't do it again and it wont hurt." She smirked at me.

My mom can be an ass.

My mom tried coming in my room but I had locked it. I didn't want to talk anymore. I was afraid I would tell her, and she would make me leave him. "Joe? Open the door." I flopped down onto the bed with my back up and pulled the pillow over my head. "Leave me alone, mom." "Talk to me! Joe," She paused. "Leah told me..." I sat up. "Told you...what?" "She saw you and the boy, or, erm, Zack, Kissing." "Mom.." "Why didn't you tell me?" "I was going to. I wanted to! But..What was I going to say after I told you I was with him alone for five hours?" "I don't know, somthing like 'Mom I was taking care of my sick boyfriend. Sorry I didn't call'." I walked to the door. "I didn't know who you felt about gays.." "Open the door." I did. Instantly she hugged me. "I would love my son no matter what. No matter who he chooses to love." I hugged her back and slightly cried into her shoulder. "Mo-Mom..I..Zach isn't sick." "Then why where you with him?" "Mom we..we had sex.." He gently smoothed the back of my hair. "I-I'm sorry.." "Shh. No, baby. Don't be sorry. It's okay.." She said softly. I cried harder into her shoulder. She rubbed my back then released me. "Do you love him?" "Wh-What..?" "Do you love Zach?" "Yes. Mom, I-I love him.." She hugged me again then walked out of the room. "You should shower." "O-Okay." I didn't grab any clothes or anything. I just went into the bathroom and started running the water.

I was still crying. I just spilt one of my biggest secrets ever. Just like that.

It felt the a boulder off my chest.
