003- THE BRIDE OF SUNLIGHT
That bastard claimed it was just a one-hour curse yesterday. Well, curse him. As the healing time for the burn approached, the pain only intensified—to the point where I could almost imagine my arm tearing away from my body. It was that excruciating, yet not a single drop of blood spilled. In the end, I had no choice but to endure it.
Whenever I scraped my knee, arms, or elbows from all the running, no blood ever came out, and the wounds always healed within a day.
I didn't quite understand what she meant by that at first, pero mukhang naiintindihan ko na ito ngayon.
Was it because me, being a semideus; the offspring of a mortal and a god?
"Sweetheart, you're as impulsive as ever. Can't you take a break for once?"
She always labeled me as impulsive and reckless. Hindi raw kasi ako mapakali noong bata pa ako.
Well, not much has changed, actually. Even my professors from previous schools in the mortal realm constantly scolded me for disrupting their classes. I also had a terrible record at my last school—almost a perfect attendance at the disciplinary office. But what excuse could I even give? After all, it was true—I just couldn't help myself.
A sudden chill ran through my body as a random thought crossed my mind. Yung sinabi ni Theo kahapon...
"The Greek god of sunlight, prophecy, music, and poetry. The twin brother of the goddess Artemis."
"Apollo."
"Apollo."
"Apollo."
I froze as I felt the blood rush to my cheeks at the thought. The name echoed in my head like the bells atop a church tower—Apollo. The Greek god of sunlight, prophecy, music, and poetry. Apollo. Just imagining myself married to him sent shivers down my spine. It was pure madness.
Now, how in the world was I supposed to give Zeus a worthy and acceptable reason not to marry his son?
"Daughter of Hecate." Nahulog ako mula sa pagkakalambitin patiwarik sa training bar sa loob ng kwarto ko when I heard someone speak. And don't even ask me why I was doing that stunt habang nagmumuni-muni nang kung anu-ano sa isipan ko.
I cursed. "Shit—I mean, Goddess Eunomia! I mean no disrespect! I just—"
The goddess, who had appeared in my room without warning, now stood right in front of me. I instinctively took a step back before her presence—she always gave me the creeps.
"I came to inform you that your classes will begin at eight. You will be gathering with the other semideuses in the Banquet Hall for breakfast in an hour. Your class schedule and Identification-Navigator are on your bedside table, and your uniforms are in your wardrobe." She paused, tilting her head slightly as she faced me—if I didn't know better, I'd bet she was inspecting me from behind that blindfold.
Then she continued, "Your professors and I will not tolerate tardiness, daughter of Hecate. You are descendants of the gods themselves. We expect you to act like it. That would be all." With that, she trailed off and vanished into thin air.
