{FLOWER SHOP AU}
Genre: Fluff (slight curse warning)
1074 Words

There's this little flower shop along the sidewalk which Akaashi owns. He decided to put it up because he was always interested in nature. More specifically, flowers.

He thought that his petite store would at least gain some attention, but to his disappointment, only a handful of customers come by every week. But, he did not lose hope and continued working in the shop.

"kuROOO-"
Bokuto stood there at the doorway in the living room, drenched in water.
Kuroo was laughing obnoxiously loud, proud of himself for the prank he just pulled off.
"yoU SHOULD'VE SEEN," Kuroo exclaimed in between snickers and giggles, "THE LOOK ON YOUR FACE!!"
He shouted, an eruption of laughter coming from him soon afterwards as he falls to the floor, holding his stomach.

"i'M lEaViNg." Bokuto says as he walks away, going into his room to change his wet clothes with Kuroo still laughing like crazy.
He thought of a way to get him back, he wants to do it passive-aggresively.
So, he decided to look for a flower shop. Preferably, the one he passed by just last week.

While walking towards the store, he bursted through the door shouting, "hEY HEY HEY!!", hands rising up as well.
Akaashi shot up from the book he was reading, standing up from his seated position behind the counter.
Bokuto stared at the boy in front of him, putting down his hands slowly.
He noticed his raven-coloured hair, how it messily falls in place, and his eyes, not knowing whether they were blue, or gray, or a mixture of both, that seemed to sparkle under sunlight floating through the window.

"Um, how may I help you..?"
Akaashi questions the spikey-haired boy standing in front of him.
Bokuto was snapped out of his trance as he felt his face become warmer.
"O-oh! I'm sorry but," Bokuto says with a shy smile, rubbing the back of his head as he walks towards the counter and slaps a 20$ bill onto the surface. With a serious face and a monotone voice, he asked "How do I passive-aggresively say 'F*ck you' in flower?"

Akaashi blinked for a moment as his lips turned into a slight curve.
"You do not know how long I've wanted someone to ask me that." He says as he chuckles lightly. Akaashi walks out from behind the counter and goes towards the variety of flowers he has in his store. Picking each flower, he explained its meaning to Bokuto, who trailed behind him.

"So, you'd need a bouquet of Geraniums, which stand for stupidity. Foxglove, which is insincerity. Meadowsweet for uselessness. Yellow Carnations, for the phrase 'You have disappointed me',"
Bokuto just stared in awe. He can't believe this gorgeous person is leading him around and telling him that these pretty flowers all have different meanings. He's silently thanking the Gods for this opportunity,

"And lastly, Orange Lilies, which stand for hatred." Akaashi finished explaining as they walked back to the counter, with Bokuto still amazed.

Akaashi took the bundle of flowers, tying them together with twine. Then, placing them in some coloured parchment paper, wrapping it around the bouquet. Lastly, he took the ribbon and tied it around the paper to keep it in place.
Bokuto was mesmerized by the soft, delicate hands as he watched Akaashi work. He really wants to hold them.

"Here's your bouquet." Akaashi says as he hands the item towards Bokuto.
"Ah, thank you so much!" Bokuto says as he reaches for the bouquet. Their hands brush against the other briefly. Bokuto looked down at the flowers, a blush creeping onto his face.
"By the way, it's only 15$ so-"
"Y-you can keep the change..!"
Akaashi's gaze focused on the taller male in front of him.
"U-um, think of it as a thank you! This was a way for me to get back at my friend for pranking me earlier today." Bokuto says as he giggles a bit.

"Ah, well then thank you too." Akaashi replies, Bokuto's giggle replaying in his mind for some reason.
"Oh right, I never got your name." Bokuto says with a curious expression on his face.
"O-oh, it's Akaashi. Akaashi Keiji."
The florist replies.
"That's such a pretty name..." Bokuto mutters to himself under his breath.
"...And you are?" Akaashi asks.
"Oh r-right! I'm Bokuto! Bokuto Koutarou!!" Bokuto responds.
"Nice to meet you." Akaashi smiles at the golden-eyed boy.
Bokuto tried not to squeal upon seeing Akaashi smile, even if it was just a small one. His face was almost as vibrant as the roses Akaashi has in the store.
"N-nice to meet you too!!" Bokuto answers back, his mouth forming a big grin.
"I guess I better get going now, I gotta take my revenge on my friend!" Bokuto says while heading towards the door.

"P-please do visit often..!" Akaashi blurts out, quickly putting a hand over his mouth. His face dusted with pink.
Bokuto looked back at the florist upon hearing what he had said,
"Don't worry, I'll come back tomorrow!! Bye bye for now!!!" Bokuto exclaims, smiling, as he walked out of the store.

Akaashi watched as he left. He sat back down on his chair from earlier, burying his face in his hands.
He looked back up and rested his chin on his palm, face still warm from the whole interaction.

'I'll be waiting for you then.'

Bokuto entered his shared apartment with Kuroo.
"Kuroo!! I've got something for you!!" Bokuto calls out.
"O y a ?" Kuroo says as he walks out of his room, towards Bokuto.
"Here," He hands him the bouquet.
"These are for you."
"Dude, I know we're both gay but I already have Kenma, and are these gonna squirt out water or something? If so, I'm not falling for that." Kuroo says with a stiffled laugh.
"No, I want you to search their meanings. Yeah yeah you can have Kenma I know." Bokuto replies with a smile as he walks upstairs, leaving Kuroo dumbfounded.

As he enters his room, Bokuto plops down onto the bed, feeling excited for tomorrow. He then grabs a pillow to muffle out the screams and squeals he was releasing.
'HE WAS SO CUTE OMG HIS EYES HIS HAIR HIS AGHHHH I WANNA KISS HIM AND HOLD HIS SOFT HANDS HE'S SO PRETTY AKSJSJDH'
was the train of thought that spun around his head all afternoon.
