Freckles and Constellations - Tsukkiyama

Yamaguchi had always find stars interesting. How they would twinkle in the dark everytime the sun went down. The way they shone as if they were fragments of the sun itself. He soon learned about the different patterns the small, bright dots formed in the sky. He found out about constellations during one of his classes.

He started reading and researching all about constellations and such. Yamaguchi spent time in the library looking through different books covering the topic. But he wanted to know more, perhaps go stargazing. He wanted to lay outside and try to figure out the different patterns and probably name them. He didn't want to do it alone, and he already has someone in mind.

"Tsukki!" Yamaguchi called out, approaching the taller male.
Tsukishima turned around to face the other. He tilted his head slightly at the smaller male.
"C-can you come by my house tonight? I w-wanted to go stargazing to learn more about c-constellations and I didn't want to do it alone. I-i was thinking we could g-go to a nearby field..!" Yamaguchi asked nervously, messing with his fingers as his gaze slowly shifts towards his feet, a faint blush spreading across his cheeks.
"Ah, sure." Tsukishima replied, turning back around to continue walking.
"O-oh, thank you Tsukki!" Yamaguchi says as his lips curve into a small smile, catching up to the male in front of him.

The sun was setting, Yamaguchi was in the bathroom. He was staring in the mirror, at the little dots that adorned his cheeks. He never really liked them, he didn't find them appealing. He grazed his fingers over his face, sighing to himself. He looked towards the small window in the little bathroom, seeing that the sky has darkened. He took one last look at himself in the mirror then walked out.

He brought out a big blanket, some snacks, and a few books about astrology to bring. He put everything in his bag and went downstairs.
Yamaguchi heard a knock and went outside. Tsukishima stood there, headphones hanging by his neck.
"Tsukki! Ready to go?" Yamaguchi asks excitedly. The blond answered with a simple nod of his head. They walked towards the field, talking along the way.

Once they reached the field, Yamaguchi took the bag off his shoulders and brought out the blanket, laying it neatly on the soft grass. He then brought out the books and snacks. The smaller boy then sat on the blanket, he patted the space beside him as he smiled at the taller male standing in front of him. Tsukishima sat down beside him as Yamaguchi offered the snacks he packed. They ate in silence.

After eating, Yamaguchi looked up, seeing many bright dots light up the night sky. Tsukishima followed his gaze as he tilted his head upwards too.
The taller male started pointing out a few constellations as Yamaguchi listened and stared in awe above. But not long after 30 mins, the sky began to get cloudy. The freckled boy began to get disappointed as he shifted his gaze downwards. Sighing, he turned to look at Tsukishima.
"It's cloudy tonight, I should've checked the weather forecast. Gomen, Tsukki." Yamaguchi says sadly, laughing a bit to somehow lighten the mood.

However, the blond just stared at the smaller male in front of him. Yamaguchi was rather confused.
"Um, Tsukki..?" He questions, tilting his head slightly.
"Yamaguchi, your freckles. They're glowing." Tsukishima says as he brings himself closer to cup the other's face.
"W-what are you t-talking about, Tsukki??" Yamaguchi stuttered out, confused because of the taller male's previous statement and that he's holding his face.
His cheeks became warm at the sudden close contact.

"Your freckles are glowing." the blond repeated.
Yamaguchi tugged off his jacket as Tsukishima removed his hand from his face. He looked down at his arms and he saw his freckles light up as well. He stared at them, awestruck. He looked up at Tsukishima who was clearly amazed as well.

"Why are they glowing...?" Yamaguchi mutters to himself, looking quite confused.
"They're beautiful.." Tsukishima says breathlessly, staring at Yamaguchi's glowing freckles. The smaller boy's face heated up at that comment as he covers his cheeks with his arm, averting his gaze to the side.

Tsukishima held Yamaguchi's wrist as he gently pulled it down.
"Don't hide it from me..." Tsukishima mutters, still holding onto Yamaguchi's wrist. The male in front of him closed his eyes, face still flushed.
Tsukishima admired the sight, his own face lightly dusted pink. He moves closer to the other, slowly bringing up his hand.

Tsukishima's thumb caresses the illuminating dots, a dazed expression present on his face.
"You're beautiful." Tsukishima whispers as his gaze shifts to the other's eyes.
Yamaguchi slowly opened his eyes upon hearing those words. He was met with  golden-brown orbs staring at him.

Tsukishima starts gliding his thumb on the other's cheeks.
"This constellation is called Delphinus." Tsukishima mutters, tracing the said pattern. He continues on, doing a few other small constellations and telling Yamaguchi their names. Tsukishima moved his hand onto the smaller boy's arm and he started tracing bigger constellations on it.

"And this is Cygnus." Tsukishima says as he moves his finger across Yamaguchi's arm. Tsukishima covered most of the constellations in the book Yamaguchi brought. Both their faces were pink throughout the entire time due to their close proximity.
Tsukishima shifted his gaze upwards at Yamaguchi. He couldn't believe the sight before him. The way his freckles glowed under the moonlight, the glistening pair of hazelnut eyes looking back at him, and the small smile plastered on his face.

"Thanks for tonight, Tsukki." Yamaguchi says as he gazes fondly at the taller boy, the smile on his face slightly growing.
"I-it's nothing.." Tsukishima replies, averting his eyes to the side as the blush present on his face grows darker. Yamaguchi giggles lightly upon hearing Tsukishima stutter, causing the blond to cover his face with the back of his hand.

They stayed together til' the sun rose.
