It was a normal afternoon at Shiratorizawa. The team was practicing for what felt like hours already. The coach said it's for them to build up stamina, but it definitely felt like torture for some of them.

After stretching and self-practice, the team decided to do a practice match within themselves. They've divided into two teams and began to play.
The match goes smoothly, since the players are all so talented. Spikes here, blocks there, they were quite synchronized.

Ushijima, however, can't help but watch as Tendou blocks the spike of the other team. He doesn't know why he keeps averting his gaze back to the red-haired boy.
He must've been in a daze because without realizing it, the person he was just thinking about appeared right in front of him.

"Wakatoshi-kun, you good? You've spaced out a bit there." He gives a light chuckle. "The match is over, we can all take a break now." Satori says, making the ace ever so lightly flinch at the sound of his voice.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm fine, it's nothing to worry about. Thank you for telling me." The ace replies as he starts walking to the side of the gym.
"It's fine! Just don't do that in the middle of an actual match, alright?" Tendou answers as he follows his friend from behind.

Luckily, Coach Washijo isn't too harsh on them today as he allows them to take a quick break, which would then be followed by another round of practice.

Ushijima gets a quick drink from the vending machine in the hallway. Standing near him was Tendou, with his own drink in hand. After getting his beverage, they walk back down the hallway towards the gym, creating conversation along the way. Tendou was the only one that could really initiate a conversation and make Ushijima talk more. Maybe that was why the ace liked the other's company.

Why was Wakatoshi feeling all giddy when he was walking with Tendou? He felt his stomach fluttering, his heartbeat sped up.
Ushijima is definitely confused, but he pushed aside those sensations.

After practicing for a few more hours, the players all started heading home. It was both Ushijima and Tendou's turn to clean up the gym, so they both stayed later.
They were finishing up with the equipment when Tendou spoke.

"Hey Wakatoshi-kun, let's walk home together again!" He chirps, putting away the net and broom.
"Oh, okay." Ushijima replied, putting away the last few volleyballs.
There it was again, that weird feeling in his stomach. The ace heaved a quiet sigh and turned to grab his things, getting ready to leave. So did Tendou, approaching the other with his own things.

The pair walked beside each other. Tendou often making small jokes in hopes of making the other laugh, which only led to a nod of the head from Ushijima. The middle blocker went on and on about stories he's probably told the ace before, but still tells them anyway. Meanwhile, Wakatoshi tries to shrug off the sudden anxiety he was feeling.

They stopped at Satori's house first, since it was closer.
"Bye now, Wakatoshi-kun! See ya tomorrow!" Tendou gives a small wave accompanied by that smile the ace has probably memorized by now.
"S-see you.." Ushijima replies. Did he,
did he just stutter? Even he can't believe that just happened. Why is he so jittery today? Tendou shuts his door, snapping the other out of his apparent daze, again.

He shakes his head a bit, trying to comprehend all the weird things he's been feeling today. He even stuttered! He's never stuttered before! Thoughts occupy his head as he walks back to his own home.
