Oikawa stood there beside the person he loved the most. He watched his best friend's face light up, but not towards him. His gaze followed the figure that walked down the aisle, silently wishing it was him instead. But nonetheless, Tooru kept a smile on his face. The most he could do now is to be happy for him, right?

Paper planes and porcelain
Oikawa and Iwaizumi were in the backyard, throwing the small paper planes each of them made. Iwa's planes glided through the air gracefully whereas Oikawa's ones fell flat on the grass.
"Iwa-chaaaan!! Show me how to make yours!!!" Tooru whined.
"Heh, yours are just as trashy as you, trashykawa! Bleh!!" Iwaizumi replied, mocking the other boy.
"Hmph! Iwa-chan so mean!!"Smell of rain through the window pane
"It looks like we can't play volleyball outside today." Hajime says as he stares out the window. Tooru, who had his ball in his hands, pouted at that comment.
"Awww, but I wanna play with Iwa-chan!!" Oikawa exclaims.
"Shut up crappykawa!!"
"So mean, Iwa-chan!!"And the sight of you,
Oh, you were a good dream~~~
I was scared to lose you then
Oikawa watched Iwaizumi as he spikes the ball he had set. The ball landed perfectly into the other side. The pair looked at each other for a moment before fond smiles appeared on their faces.
But secrets turn into regrets
The setter was feeling slightly different today. He had become, although unnoticeable, a bit more shy and nervous around the wing spiker. He had no idea why he was feeling this way.
Buried feelings grow
Tooru realized he had caught feelings for Hajime.
Oh, you were a good dream

Together, the two played the same sport, on the same team, throughout their highschool years. During that time, it had seem they both had grown closer than ever.
Was it the wrong time? What if we tried giving in a little more
Yes, they were close. But was it wrong of Oikawa to think that maybe they could become closer? The captain bottled up his feelings, not wanting to release them at a wrong time. With a hopeful spirit, he waited.
To the warmth we had before
He was satisfied with their bond at the moment. Tooru wouldn't wish for another partner, he would not have traded Iwaizumi for the world. If having Hajime by his side meant that they couldn't form something more, it was something Oikawa could endure.

After graduating, Oikawa and Iwaizumi had parted ways. Only to once meet again a few years later. The former captain had agreed to meet with his best friend.
Tangled with another's eyes
Approaching the meeting spot, he spots a familiar face. He was about to call out when he spotted someone else. A girl, gazing into Iwaizumi's eyes. Oikawa stopped in his tracks for a bit.
Nevermind, you were never mine
A pang of jealousy hit Oikawa. Swallowing it down, he continued walking again.
"Hey, Iwa-chan~" Tooru greets, giving his signature smile.
"Ah, Shittykawa. It's been awhile." Now it was Iwaizumi's turn to return the smile.
"Argh, Iwa-chan! Still so mean as always!!" Oikawa replied, sticking his tongue out at him. They both shared a laugh.A glimpse of me and you
"Ah, this is my girlfriend by the way." Iwaizumi introduced the girl beside him to which Oikawa and her greeted each other.
He turns his gaze towards Hajime with a smile.Oh, you were a good dream

Oikawa finished buttoning up his tuxedo. He slipped on his shoes as he makes his way to the wedding venue. A few weeks earlier, Iwaizumi had asked him to be his best man. Of course Tooru accepted, no matter how much it pained him. What matters now is that Hajime is happy on his big day.
Was it the wrong time? What if we tried giving in a little more?
He arrived at the place with about 20 minutes to spare before the main event. He spots the groom standing by the altar as guests slowly filled in the seats. Iwaizumi spots his best man as he called Oikawa over. As the former captain came closer, his best friend pulled him to the side.
I'd spend a lifetime waiting in vain just to go back to the way we were before
"Oikawa, I have something I'd like to confess."
"What is it, Iwa-chan?"
"Haha, this is pretty ridiculous but I actually liked you back in highschool."
"...Ah, is that so?"
"Mhm. But I'm glad I met her now. I hope you find someone of your own too."
"I see. You better get ready for your wedding now, Iwa-chan. Good luck!"Was it the wrong time? What if we tried giving in a little more
Oikawa watches Iwaizumi wave back at him before proceeding to the altar. He soon followed after that, getting ready to start the ceremony.
To the warmth we had before
~~~
Oikawa stood by the balcony of his hotel room. Staring out at the night sky, the cold breeze flows through his hair. With tear-stained cheeks and puffy eyes, he sang to himself.
"Is there a lifetime waiting for us? All this time, I have been yours..."
