{COLLEGE AU}
Genre: Fluff
Words: 1177Sugawara loved to read books, there's no doubt about that. He has a bookshelf filled to the brim with multiple books, some of which he has read more than thrice.
Wanting to read something new, he goes to his local library just a few minutes away from the apartment he was currently residing in.
Putting on his shoes, grabbing his backpack, Suga heads out the door with his apartment keys in his hand, only for it to be put away inside of his pocket. After a quick 10-minute walk, he has arrived at his destination. Excitement bubbles up in him, thoughts of immersing himself into a new novel sounded heavenly to the silver-haired male.
He strolls down the many shelves throughout the building, stopping by to look at some books that caught his attention, only for him to put them back after reading their synopsis.
'I only need one, I have way too much at my apartment.' He thinks to himself as he continues to roam around the library.Entering the Romance section, he saw a book that caught his eye. Quickly walking towards it, he reached out for the said book only to find a hand already on it. Taken aback, Suga retracted his hand, turning to look at the stranger who took the book.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did you want this?" The male in front of him asked, holding out the book.
"A-ah, well, yeah, but you got to it first! You can take it." Sugawara says, a small smile etched on his face.
"Are you sure? You can have this and I'll look for another one." The taller male asks.
"Ehh, hmm, maybe we could take turns reading it? You read it first and then we can meet up when you're done with it!" The silver-haired male suggested. The other nodded in response as they exchanged names and numbers."Okay then, we'll meet up here in the library. Err, can I just call you Daichi? Sawamura is too long." Sugawara questions as rubs his neck, a grin plastered on his face.
"Oh, sure." Daichi responds, having used to his friends calling him by his first name anyway.
Saying their goodbyes, the two males parted ways.~1 week later~
The pair met up again at one of the small reading tables in the library for Daichi to lend the book to Suga. Meanwhile, the latter brought a book he owned to exchange with. As Daichi tells the other about his opinion on the novel, Sugawara's eyes wandered around the face in front of him.
'His chocolatey brown eyes, the ever-changing expressions he makes, his somehow messy-but-still-kept hair, the way his lips moved as he tal- wait'
Suga's mind went blank for a few seconds before realizing Daichi has been calling him for the past, what, 2 minutes?"Uhm..Suga?" Daichi asks, waving his hand in front of the other.
"Uhhh...are you there?" A small chuckle came from Daichi as he tried to shake Suga out of his little trance. That chuckle was more than enough to bring the silver-haired male back down to Earth.
"O-oh! Yes! Hi!" He blurted out as he feels his face getting warmer by the second. Daichi lets out a laugh due to the other's outburst."I-I'm very sorry! I, uhm, d-didn't get enough sleep last night! Yeah..." Sugawara says as an alibi.
"You should get more sleep then." Daichi replies, "Anyways, that was my opinion on the book. You should definitely read it for yourself so that we can compare views on them.""Ah, alright." Koushi responded as he took the book from the other's hand. Their fingers brushed, albeit a little, which caused Suga's heart to skip a beat. Regaining his composure, Suga brought out one of his books to give to Daichi.
"Here, while I read this novel, you can read this adventure book I've read a few times before. We can exchange opinions on both books once we're both done." Sugawara explains. Daichi reached out for the book before stuffing it in his own bag.
"You didn't read the synopsis." The silver-haired male noted.
"I don't have to. I trust you enough to know that the book is going to be great." The brown-haired male replied with a smile.
'Was- was that a compliment?-' Suga thought as his heart started to race."It's getting late, we should head back home now before it gets really dark. Plus I have a book to read!" Daichi says as he stood up from his chair, the other doing the same as well.
"You're right, I'll see you in a week again, right?" Suga says as he slips on his backpack.
"You bet." Daichi replies, giving off that bright smile that had Sugawara weak in the knees. Returning a small smile, the pair went their seperate ways, only for them to meet just a week later once again.~~~
And so the cycle continued for months, the two always making time to meet each other every week so they could exchange books (Daichi had his own collection too). Sugawara hadn't noticed but somewhere along the lines, they decided to read new books together, them sitting beside each other, shoulders touching. The silver-haired male loved the intimacy, honestly. He started falling more and more for the other with every meeting.
Today marks their 8th month of this whole routine, as for Koushi, his 8th month of being helplessly in love with Daichi. They had just finished yet another reading session when they needed to go home, since the sky began to darkened. Standing at the entrance of the library, Daichi looked up at the sky.
"Wow, we stayed longer than usual today, huh?" Daichi comments, his eyes trailing to where Suga stood.
"Hm? Oh, yeah, we did." He replies, letting out a chuckle. A few moments pass by with slightly uncomfortable silence between them.
"I...I need to do some school work that's due soon! Uhm, goodbye Daichi!"
"Eh? Ah sure go ahea-" He was cut off by Koushi who had planted a quick peck on the taller male's cheek before chastely turning around. Before Koushi could even take a step, he felt a hand tug on his arm. Turning his head back, he felt an arm on his back before feeling something warm on his lips. Dumbfounded, the silver-haired male realized that The Daichi Sawamura was kissing him. Without hesitation, he closed his eyes as he kissed back with so much passion.
The pair stood in front of the library, lips against lips, bodies againts bodies, as the stars began to twinkle from above them.
They both parted as they needed air, panting slightly as they gazed into each other's eyes.
'The moonlight makes his eyes shimmer.' Sugawara thought.
"Would this be a good time to ask you out on a date?" Daichi asks, a smile gracing his features.
Koushi giggled in response,
"You dork,"
his own bright smile forming on his face,
"Of course."
