CHP. 16 • New Arrangements •

After lunch was over, the group entered the school building to walk to their classes, however, Y/N didn't get very far as suddenly, she was pulled over by a familiar face.

"L/N-sama" acknowledged a firm, monotone voice, "could you please come with me for a second, you too Shidesu."

The two girls bid goodbye to the boys and followed behind the student president in silence, neither knowing why they were being summoned. After walking the halls for a number of minutes they finally arrived at the doors of the guidance counselor. It became apparent why they were here rather quickly - clearly, this had to do with Y/N's home situation. Why else would they be summoned to the guidance counselor.

"Just walk in. The counselor is waiting for you" spoke Megami, pushing the door open gently. Y/N nodded at the silver-haired girl and quickly walked inside, closely followed by Osoro. The guidance counselor was seated at her desk with her phone out. A number of files were scattered on the usually neat desk, and as soon as the girls came into her line of vision, she gestured for them to sit down.

"Please take a seat," she spoke, beginning to rummage through the files. Y/N and Osoro exchanged a glance before sitting down and facing the counselor, as she continued to search for something. Eventually, she came across what she was looking for and swiftly pulled out a piece of paper.

"Okay, Miss Shidesu, your father called after the incident with Miss L/N, and he has offered to take custody of her for the time being. Are you okay with this?" she asked, raising a thin eyebrow at the end. Osoro looked genuinely surprised, but quickly grinned.

"Yes, I'll be happy to have Y/N over" she spoke happily, turning to share an incredulous look with her friend. Meanwhile, the H/C-haired girl couldn't believe her ears. She had been so worried about not having a place to go to after school, but now that the counselor offered this option, she couldn't have been more relieved. A warm feeling rose within her, one that she had rarely felt before. Could this be... could this be a new start for her?

"And I take that your happy expression is an indication that you're okay with these arrangements too, Miss L/N?" the counselor asked. Y/N nodded with much excitement, causing the strict woman to give her a small smile as she picked up the phone. After a number of rings the person on the other line picked up.

"Yes, she agreed" spoke the counselor, pressing the phone to her left ear, "Yes, I think that would be wise Mister Shidesu. Miss L/N, would you be able to drop by your house to collect your things after school?" she asked, turning to the H/C-haired girl once more. Y/N nodded her head, causing the counselor to resume talking to Osoro's father.

"She said that she can. Okay, thank you once again Mister Shidesu" she said as the call ended. "You are free to leave, unless you have any questions about this arrangement."

The girls exchanged a glance and smiled widely.

"No, I think we'll work it out just fine from here. Thank you for your effort to help me Kunahito-sama."
