Chapter 24

Ashley-
Its been three months or so since mine and Ross' "almost divorce." When we told the kids - especially Carter - he was almost in tears. But, now that it didn't happen, we're all a little happier.
"How're you and Ross, honey?" Mom asks, softly smiling, as she bounces Jewel on her lap, Ross and the kids somewhere around in her and Dad's place.
"Good," I smile. We are. We haven't been fighting since the last time, which we're both pretty pleased with. "And I'm really glad we didn't go through with it."
She nods. "Same here. You two are perfect - it's like it's a fairytale."
I laugh. "Oh, please Mom. We're far from perfect, but I think you're right about the fairytale." I add a wink at the end, and she chuckles, shaking her in an amused manner, and we both continue talking.

"Oh my gosh, sorry!" I cover my eyes as I walk in on Carter and Ariel in the kitchen.
"Sorry..." Carter blushes as Ariel hides her face in his chest, and I smile slightly at the two. "Don't worry. You used to do that all the to your dad and I." I laugh, and he chuckles.
"Yeah, I do remember this one time..."

"So where do you see us in ten years, babe?" Ross looks down at me as we lay on our bed, his arm around my waist loosely.
"Um," I start, making him chuckle. "Well, to be honest, still here. Exactly like now, but older. But you know, I also see you as a dad still."
He cracks a smile. "And that I know. But I dunno, I see myself still loving you, my dear."
I giggle. "I didn't expect anything less than that, but I'll miss being young." I sigh playfully, and he still smiles. "Yeah, but looks at everything that's happened. We've had kids; a family."
"There you are," Carter and and Annabelle walk in with Jewel walking with them as Carter says this, and they lay on our bed with us.
"I love you guys." Ross grins, as Jewel babbles atop his chest. "But as time goes by, I realize, it's more than that each day."
