Chapter 2 - I Have To Admit Something...

Chapter 2

Ross-

I wake up, my eyelids fluttering open, and I see Ashley sprawled out across my bare chest. Then I remember what went on last night. I smirk, as my fingers starting to run through her hair, and I feel her move a little, then her eyes open, and meet mine.

“Morning, babe,” I say, still a little groggy. “How’d you sleep?” I still smirk, and she blushes.

“Ross!” She hides in my chest. “But, I slept okay.” I chuckle. We only got a few hours of sleep in.

We lay in silence, and the thought of what happened with Laura couldn’t help but come into my mind. I bite my lip. Should I tell Ashley now? No, that might ruin the whole day for the both of us. Maybe mid-day. I’ll just tell her when we’re heading to bed.

“ROSS! GET UP!” Rocky bursts into the room, and Ashley quickly pulls the covers up over our bare upper halves, blushing slightly. “Get out, Rocky!” I groan.

“What were you two doing last night?” He smirks now, and Ash blushes more now. I roll my eyes. “Something that you don’t need to know.”

“Someone’s cranky,” he chuckles. “Just hurry up. Mom’s getting impatient.” I sigh, but nod. “Okay.” He walks out. How did he get into our suite in the first place – oh, that’s right, Mom has a key.

“Ross? You okay?” Ash asks softly, and I look down at her again from the ceiling. “Oh, uh – yeah, of course. Why?”

“It’s just you’re not acting like yourself,” she shrugs. “It’s alright if it’s nothing though. Don’t worry.”

We both get up out of bed, doing everything to get ready, then we wake Carter and Annabelle, getting them ready, and finally we walk out of the suite door, meeting Mom, Dad, Rydel, Riker, Rocky, Ellington, Ryland, and Ariel in the hall. We take two trips in the elevator; myself, Ashley, Annabelle, Ryland, and Rydel in one, then the rest of the gang goes on the next ride. We all climb into a van that’s driving us to our interview destination, and once we arrive, we run in, Ashley, Ryland, and the kids tagging behind.

“Ross,” Riker shakes my shoulder gently, and I snap out of my trance of staring at my Converse, and I look up at him. “Yea?”

“What’s up? You’re not usually this quiet,” he sits next to me on the dressing room couch, and I sigh. I guess I have to tell him. “A little while ago, I was cheating on Ashley with Laura.” He gasps quietly. “For how long?” I sigh again, looking down. “A week.”

“Does Ash know?” I shake my head. “Are you planning on telling her?” I nod. “Yeah. Later today – you can’t tell anyone about this, okay?”

“Okay,” he places a hand on my shoulder. “It’s – I’m a little disappointed, Ross. Why?” I shrug. “I dunno. I got lonely, I guess. But it’s inexcusable. But I’m going to try and fix and move past it.”

“Time to go on!” Rydel exclaims, making all of us jump up, walking out to sit on the couch across from the interviewer.

Ashley-

“Ash,” Ross says nervously, and I turn to him. “Hmm?” I hum, and he takes a deep breath. “I nedd to tell you something; you might be angry with me, but I promise I won’t do it again. Ever.”

What was he talking about?

“Uh, okay. Tell me,” I say gently. “IcheatedonyouwithLaura.” He says really fast, and I place my hands on his shoulders. “Slow down,” I say, and he takes another deep breath. “I-I cheated on you with Laura.”

I gasp, tears filling my eyes. “F-for how long?” That wasn’t the most important thing right now, but it  was the first thing that came to mind. “A week. I-I’m sorry. I-I was lonely without you by my side. I know it’s inexcusable, though.” I take in a shaky breath, looking up at him. “I’m just shocked, Ross. I never thought you’d do this.”

“You don’t have to forgive me, but I definitely don’t want us to end, but if you want it-“

“Ross,” I interrupt him. “I get it – you were lonely, and of course, it’s inexcusable, but we’ve been together long enough and I know that you’d never do that, even if you had to. Let’s just move past this.”

“You’d actually do that? For me – well, us?” He asks. I nod, and he pulls me into a hug. “You have to remember, I love you and only you.”

“Ross – oh, is everything okay now?” Riker walks into our suite, and I feel Ross nod. “Good. You want to come down? There’s a game room Rocky, Ry, Ell, and I wanted to try.” I feel him nod again. “Sure, I’ll be right down.” Riker walks out, and we both pull out of our embrace gently.

“Is it okay…?” He asks in hopeful tone, making me chuckle. “Yeah, yeah, of course. Go.” He kisses me quickly, but gently, and walks to the door, and just before heading out, turns around to wave. I return it, and he walks out, and I hear all the boys’ banter from outside, making me chuckle.

I decide that I will go and find Rydel, and I find her in her suite with the kids, so I sit with her on the couch.

“Hey Dels,” I smile, and she grins. “Hey Ash,” she says. “What was Ross talking to you about?”

“Oh, um,” I start. “Well, he cheated.” She gasps, and I have to tell her to keep it down, or one of the kids might hear. “What did you say?” I sigh. “Well, I could tell he regretted it by the way he was talking. So, I told him that we could move past it. I mean, that’s reasonable, right?” She nods. “Well, yeah, of course. Does anyone else know?”

“I don’t know,” I shrug. “Don’t tell anyone unless they ask though, okay?” She nods, then rubs my knee soothingly. “All good, Ash. But it’s so cute that Carter and Ariel are together.”

I smile. “Yeah, it is. It’s like déjà vu of Ross and I.” She chuckles. “You’ve got that right. I wonder what their kids would look like…”

“Delly!” I playfully scold, and she laughs. “I was joking! I was joking! But don’t you wonder? I’m sure you do.” I laugh a little. “Yeah, I guess so. They’d kind of be remakes of us them – I mean, like, the features and stuff.” She nods. “I bet they’d make a band. It’d be like… a third generation R5!”

We laugh, and our conversation goes from there.
