The headlines of a leading daily 'The Times of India' ran an article on the 25th of May 2019 which stated that 'How Siri and Alexa are making sexism worse: Their Submissive and Flirtatious Style Reinforces Gender Stereotypes, Finds UNESCO Study.' A couple of points to ponder regarding this article are that it is a fact that female representation is almost non-existent when it comes to the field of Artificial Intelligence, among others, and this is how they decide to represent women! Does that justify naming AI-powered virtual assistants by female names that sound flirtatious and obedient?

The Washington Post carried an article in 2022, about a study conducted by John Hopkins University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, which 'shows the racist and sexist biases baked into artificial intelligence systems'. An experiment was carried out using virtual robots, which were programmed using a popular artificial intelligence algorithm.

Why are hurricanes named after women? Does that imply that a natural disaster is the work of 'Mother' Nature? That all chaos in your life and environment is the handiwork of some lady who, while painting her nails in the latest shade, takes time out to shit on your parade.
