Since their first year in U.A. had ended, the students mostly enjoyed their semester breaks with their own family. This time, they didn't have any training camps or extra classes as the teachers were occupied with the matters of the school security.
Momo was having fun with the Yaoyorozu family in Spain, especially with the Grand Mosque as she was highly acquainted with historical and religious studies.
Even though she was stunned with the beauty of the buildings there, there wasn't a single time she hadn't wished for Shoto to be there with her.
Perhaps, it was because of their budding relationship. Everything seemed exciting.
For Shoto, he spent his time working as a part-timer with Midoriya, Kaminari and Kirishima. He wanted to explore and maintain his relations with friends and compensate for his lack of social skills. Also, he used the excuse many times to be away from home when Endeavor was there.
On Saturday, a day before they had to check in their dorms before for the second year, Mr. Aizawa had suggested for a picnic between the former classmates of 1-A.
The students, missing the entirety of the class, all agreed to join.
Mr. Aizawa requested for a 44-seat bus and used the remaining coaches to put their stuff. After weeks of not seeing each other and just communicating through text messages, Shoto anticipated an awkward encounter between him and Momo.
However, being the cheerful person she was, Momo walked up to him casually and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I hope you didn't miss me too much."
He blushed and murmured slowly, inaudible enough for no one to hear. "Too much is an understatement though."
Before they boarded the bus, she listed the several souvenirs that she bought for him and asked Shoto to choose.
He didn't pay lots of attention. After a long time of texting her, finally having to see her physically in front of him left Shoto in shock. He wasn't able to think.
Was she always this beautiful?
He didn't realize that the overwhelming sheer of Momo's beauty was because he terribly missed her. According to research, his feelings amplified his reactions to Momo, causing him to feel like he was being entranced by her.
Straightforwardly, he asked, "Did you take any pictures of yourself in front of the monuments?"
Momo took out her phone and showed Shoto the photos. She was blabbering about her experience in each of the photographs before Shoto stopped her and pointed at the screen. "I want that picture as my souvenir."
"Eh? Why?"
It was a picture of her standing in front of The Mihrab, smiling excitedly while she looked at the Arabic letters in awe.
"Beautiful," he said.
She laughed. For some reason, she expected something different. "I know right! Islamic architecture is mind-blowing. I love their designs, especially the arabesque and those gold writings."
"Yeah, that too."
Shoto was definitely talking about her, but she was lost in her own thoughts as she talked about history, and the sight of her being passionate made him inexplicably happy.
She sent that picture of her to Shoto's phone as a souvenir, but also keeping it in her mind that she would give him the authentic key-chain and bookmarks she bought too.
In the bus, they didn't sit beside each other. Momo sat beside Jirou, who apparently was listening to her personal playlist that she made with Kaminari.
