"Pearl Athena Avery you're not going to that party and that's final."

"Why do I have to listen to you!? You're not my real dad anyways!" Zach gasps and a tear falls from his eye.

"Go to your room right now, you're grounded. And if you do go to that party you'll never sleep over at Julie's ever again." Jack orders.

The girl turns around and runs to her room.

Zach starts sobbing and Jack hugs him.

"I'm sure she didn't mean it baby."

The brunet parts the hug by pushing him off gently and goes to his room.

Jack sighs and knocks on Pearl's room.

"Go away." She sniffs.

The blond gets in, sits down next to her and hugs her.

"Your father is crying in our room."

"I didn't mean it dad...I-" she grabs her stuffed lion.

"He knows you didn't, but it still hurts deeply to hear something like that because he loves you like you're his blood...and you know there's nothing more important to your father than family."

"I know... it's just you guys never let me go anywhere." She leans her head on Jack's shoulder and hugs the stuffed animal tightly.

"You know he's protective over you since day one because he cares so much about you..."

"I'm sorry Dad...I feel so bad now."

"I forgive you princess...but there's another dad you need to apologise to."

"You're right." They walk to their bedroom.

"Baby there's someone here who wants to apologise." Zach sniffs into Chubs.

Pearl big spoons him.

"I'm sorry daddy...I didn't mean it." She sniffs.

He sighs. Jack lays down next to Zach and turns to him.

"I know...but it still hurts really bad, because I know I'm not your real father but I think of you as my real daughter." He lays his head on Jack's chest.

"I think you're my real dad...it was just in the heat of the moment I really didn't mean it."she sobs. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to make you cry I love you so so much it hurts and I'm so thankful you saved me."

Zach turns around and hugs her tightly.

"I love you too baby...and I forgive you."

"I'm sorry." She sobs into his chest and Zach wipes her tears.

"Just because you're not blood related to us doesn't mean you're not our little smart girl that won our hearts when she called us daddy." They chuckle.

"I'm sorry Dad...I was a real bitch."

"Yes, you were but I forgive you, we're family but please never say that again because it really fucking hurts." She nods and pecks his cheek several times.

"Where's Marshall?"

"He must be arriving football practice right about...now."

"Dads! I'm home!"

"In our room!"

Marshall gets in.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, we had a little fight."
