The next morning, Faylana woke up with a groggy yawn, looking at the window.
She squinted at the lump that almost touched the window sill and rubbed at her eyes gently. Upon putting her hands down and the sleep cleared, the blurry lump had a recognizable shape, and a face peacefully sat on the pillow.Quietly, Faylana grabbed her casual attire by the hem and slid out of bed.
Sure, he's asleep, she thought, but he can wake up any moment.
She started for the closet as quietly as possible, but to her betrayal, it squeaked at the unusual caution, causing Link to wake up.
Great, she huffed, Well, guess I can get started on the day.
Rustling through her clothes, she grabbed her usual tunic, while Link sat up at the beds' edge.
"Mornin' Link," she smiled, "How was your sleep?"
"It was great," he smiled, stretching gingerly in the warm sun, "Haven't slept that good for a while."
She smiled,
"Well, I should get ready. If you'll excuse me."She walked to the bathroom and left Link to his privacy in the room. The town seemed tranquil with some chatter and the gradual giggling of children as they woke up one by one.
Taking out his Sheikah Slate, Link confirmed the hour. It was 7:50, and the town already seemed lively and ready to take on the day.
The small sound of the wooden door opening made him turn."I'll go get started on... oh?"
Faylana stared at the Slate in Links hands,
"Is... Is that...?"Link tilted the slate to Faylana's view with a puzzled look.
"What..?"Faylana flipped through her bookshelf and ransacked her notebooks, and came to a halt on a maroon covered book.
"That's a Sheikah Slate... Then... You..."Link looked on, still puzzled as Faylana lightly tapped the screen.
The light blue Sheikah Eye flickered on as she held in a gasp.
With a slight glance at Link, she kneeled before him, her dirty purple hair strands falling to the sides of her face.Symin was right. The hero would carry the slate as a means of aid.
"Um..." Link suddenly hummed, making Faylana look up and step back.
"A-ah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come off so promptly."
Links hand rested on the ashamed girl's shoulder, giving her a smile. She returned the smile, taking Links hand and placing the Slate in it.
"You were and are my biggest inspiration... and because you are and also, helped me yesterday, you're welcome to take any dish you'd like on your journey.~"
Link beamed, the egg pudding from the night before still seemingly fresh in his memory and the sight was enough to give Faylana a hint.
"Well, I guess I'll take it as Pudding again, eh?" She smiled, "No worries, I can whip up a batch with breakfast for you before you head out."
As Faylana stepped down the first steps, Link looked out the window and saw the small trail of smoke from the top of the hill.
"Faylana," he started, gaining a 'hmm?' from the lady, "Could that be Hateno Ancient Lab over there?"
"Mm?" She climbed back up and followed Link's gaze, "Oh, yes. But no one really goes up there. Except Symin, but I haven't seen him as of late."
Links eyebrows furrowed slightly,
"I'm told Purah lives there. Do you think you could join me, since you know this, Symin?"
