The duo warped to Mo'a Keet Shrine and stopped by the stables for directions.
Gaile, a woman sweeping up front, obliged.
"If your stopping by Foothill Stable, then you're probably headed to Goron City, right?""Yeah, that's right." Fay smiled.
"I thought so" Gaile mused, "Hold on... Sweetheart, are you and your boyfriend really headed to Goron City dressed like that?"
"Uh, well, yeah. We don't exactly have any other clothes." Fay recalled, their Snowquill outfit was too hot, and their Vai and Voe outfits too exposing.
"See... this is how tourists get a bad rep. That place is sheer cliff after sheer cliff, and it gets so hot past the Second Checkpoint that your body will catch on fire." She grimaced, making Link raise an eyebrow, "Normally, I wouldn't stop a stranger from heading to their doom, but I kinda like ya two.~" she smiled, handing Faylana a bottle of black liquid.
"I guess I have no choice but to sell you these Fireproof Elixers. They can protect you from the burning air. Even Goron City regulars usually take at least three elixers with them. 60 rupees for one, 110 for two and 150 for three. So how many?" She smiled.
This lady knew how to strike a deal here....
"We'll take three." She sighed handing over the 150 to the lady. They were left with 258, and she hoped nothing else would come up to run them dry.
"If you have that many, you should be able to make it to Goron City no problem! See ya!" She smiled, walking to the front as she continued sweeping.
The duo sighed and walked up the road. Link continuing his log of animals in the Hyrule Compendium, logging a Hotfeather Pidgeon and a Fireproof Lizard as they moved along.
It was nice seeing him enjoy himself, especially since his memories aren't all restored yet.
But that was something they'd have to work on before Ganon. They had reached the Maw of Death Mountain as a Goron passed by.
"The road up the volcano is so hot, it's dangerous for non-Gorons to travel. If your heart is really set on a trip to Goron City, be sure to bring some fire protection. Don't say I didn't warn ya!"
He smiled, adjusting his bag.
"So, down to brass tacks, Feel free to browse my wares!"Faylana denied but Link stopped her,
"We wanna sell actually." He smiled."What do you want to sell?"
Link pulled out a Moblin Gut, 10 Moblin Fangs, 2 Bokoblin Guts, a Ruby, 5 Ambers, and 1 Topaz.
"725 for everything Brother!" He smiled as Link handed the goods over, "It's been a pleasure! Maybe we'll meet again down the road!"
His cheerful attitude was contagious as they made their way up.Link let out a groan as he tried to document a Warm Darner, making Fay smile as she looked that the pools besides them.
They were clear and a beautiful shade of blue green as it bubbled.
Maybe it was evaporating? They continued up the slope as the temperature rose slightly, a guardian blocking the way.
It stood alert as the sight of the two alarmed it, Link holding back Fay as he held a blue glowing arrow."An Ancient Arrow!" Fay smiled, as Link pulled back and released quite smoothly. The Guardian shut down and began to malfunction, leaving behind screws, springs and a gear.
The scale up the mountain was just as hard in the night as it was in the afternoon. The only difference was the Luminous Stone deposits shining in a beautiful blue green light.
Link took a few more pictures as they avoided the enemies that popped about and scored a Ruby and Amber. Link also allowed Fay to document a Warm Safflina as he placed it behind her ear, making it look like some type of ornament.
Passing the second marker however, the plant began to whither as the air began to burn around them.
